I have a factory bedliner that covers the cover for that large square opening in bed for the power outlets option. I want to remove it for some custom work in its place. Are there screws holding it in place? Is it plastic? How should I approach to remove it?
Assuming you mean the spray-in factory bedliner........

It's a plastic piece that snaps into the square hole in the bed wall. You need to carefully slice the bedliner layer around the cover and in my case, I reached up between the bed fender and the inside bed wall, found the clips on that cover and carefully worked them loose and pushed the plate into the bed from under the truck reaching up.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
