Can anyone tell me how to remove the plastic bed rail caps? Mine got deformed from my old Smartcap and plan on buying some new ones to replace them.

This may be a good time to put a piece of 1”x2 1/2”x 1/8” steel angle iron down both rails, the price of new bed caps will scare you. The steel angle will out live pretty much anything you can do it. Mount them right on top of the plastic bed rails.

Here are the DiamondBack cover instructions for removal of the bed rail caps. They assume you want to re-use the bed rail caps. Fortunately, you are replacing the caps as it is quite difficult to remove the bed rail caps without breaking some of the molded clips.

I have replaced by bedcaps twice, once because I myself removed my smartcap. Caps are not that expensive, they are about 35-45 a piece. Just grab one end and rip it up and off. I never could remove them without breaking the clips.

Ebay about a month ago, both bed caps. I've also bought from Bam Wholesale.

So I installed the new ones today which was no big deal, but then noticed that one of the new sides came without the plate in it?

Does anyone know why?

Here are some aftermarket caps. I've been debating replacing the factory with the metal ones from American adventure labs

The American Adventure Labs ones are the closest I have found to the solution Im looking for.

The Road Armor ones look neat at first, and theyre less expensive, then you realize they slap on over the existing plastic ones.

I really want a full metal replacement for the OEM ones, that have T-Slots in them. When I have room in the budget, I may just grab some bar stock and run em through the bridgeport at work. Its one of those back burner projects that Ill circle back to when I have time and money to burn and other boxes have been checked.. but damn if someone would make them and give me an excuse to buy em Id be stoked.

Edit: sorry not intending to derail the convo here, just ranting.
