So the switch group comes with the 240 amp alternator for 500 and the bed rail has the same but comes with a back plug and locking storage….and bed rail for over 1k.

is the bed rail a hood buy? I feel like I can add the rails. Maybe even the plug.

What else is there like this?

Honestly adding the plug sounds like a major pain and to me this will be one of the must have items. Most other things are easy but not this. The harness isn

To do the bed inverter plug after the fact mod with OEM parts, you need a vehicle model that comes with the in-cabin inverter and outlet already installed and even then, it is a bit of a pain. The rail system can be easily done after the fact. The lockable under seat storage can also be ordered after the fact but the pricing on that is almost the whole Trail Rail Management package cost if you ordered it with the vehicle.

Jeep screws people on package options that have same items in them and does not give them credit for those items if they are duplicate.

I’ve never used the plug in the interior, to be honest, not sure how much use one in the bed would be. The amperage rating is quite weak so the use is already limited.

The locking storage is kind of cool, but you’re going to make that space smaller and you could do more for less $$$.

The rails? You can add those later for less $$$ too.

I plan to use a cheap plug in winch from harbor freight to help load heavy items up a ramp. Also wife will be getting a mobility scooter and I can easily charge it on the go. Not everyone has a need but some of us do.

The Jeep inverter is pretty lousy. Only 400W max (not much tbh) and the waveform is so dirty that many AC powered things won’t accept it (for instance my Anker fridge does, my Ecoflow battery unit does not). Many people here have done a DIY install with much higher quality inverters, using only the OEM hatch cover. Or rolled their own and added a 12V outlet too. Many options here

The locking underseat box is nothing special IMHO, and I’ll end up selling mine when I do a seat delete. YMMV if you like the semi-secure storage for a soft top or doors-off setup. (“Semi-secure” because despite the lock, it’s just plastic and doesn’t look too hard to break open)

In short skip the package, install the OEM rails yourself, wait and see on running power to the bed DIY

I have the Trail Rail package. I bought my 2020 in July of 2019. I don't remember the price, but I think it was worth every penny. I use the bed rail almost daily. While the bed outlet is low wattage at 400 (IIRC), it's still very handy. The locking under seat storage box is used everyday and is indispensable for valuables when the doors are off. If you bought this (the box) after delivery, IDK what it would cost to get the lock changed to match the entry key.

I wish I had ordered it. A lockable storage area that uses the main key would be awesome. Having an outlet in the back would be nice assuming it could power one of those small portable refrigerators. The rail system is nice but that part isn't expensive to diy. $150 bucks on ebay.
I figured I could do it after, but the lockable box is almost the whole cost of the full system if ordered.

I would use the aux switches to wire up a DC-DC charger for the scooter and skip the inverter. Not only is 400w not a lot, but the up-down conversion is very inefficient. For secure storage you'd be better off with a console safe or metal aftermarket underseat box.

The AUX switches an alternator are a good buy and the integration of the accessory leads is worth it in time alone.

I purchased the rail system as a stand alone 450 bucks with those tie down things. I may add the power in the back since YouTube makes it look easy.

Get a real inverter to wire to the back. 400w is pathetic. Fine enough for inside cab.

The bed rails are a must...add after the fact.

The lockable is too small. Aftermarket are much better. Yes, need to carry a key.

Careful opting to add the OEM bed plug. Several guys WITH factory in cab inverter have reported the pigtail for the driver knee switch is NOT in there on newer trucks.

Don't forget, the rear seat backs themselves create lockable storage. Each have a lock keyed to the Jeep key and prevent it from folding down.

I used mine a lot on my launch edition. Ran a dometic 75dz Frequently. My 22 didn’t have the inverter and I do miss it. I’d use it for drill battery charging and other little stuff. Was convenient. I have a smaller inverter that works ok.

I added OEM rails from someone that took off for 160 ish. Got locking under seat for 250 ish I think. None of the options were available on my order at the time. Need permanent inverter still.. So you could get out for less, but the alternator and switches will push you over the package price for sure.

Any suggestions on the bed rails? I opted to add them later
