I’ve decided to go with the roll-up tonneau to maximize bed usage. I’m thinking of the Tyger Tonneau.

I don’t have any bed rails from the factory, just spray on bedliner. Are these roll up covers plug and play from the box or do I need bed rails?

I called Tyger support and they told me bed rails are not needed but I’ve seen some posts advising they’re needed … albeit that was in a post regarding a trip fold cover.
A Mopar soft rollup bed cover does not use rails , it snaps in on each side front and rear and stretches tight,

The second link is mine (Item JG5114), as I recall the cover is attached to the braces. I've had it almost a year and haven't rolled it up except once to try it to be honest. I'll double check when I get home this evening, but I believe it looks like this photo. We recently had several inches of snow, and then it rained. Everything turned to ice. The cover is fine.

The Gladiator beds are shaped kinda weird with the sharp curve near the tailgate. FYI, most covers let in a little dust or rain. You can seal the various gaps of the tailgate which helps a lot, but if it gets damp and freezes...life gets complicated.

As far as the lockable part goes, it really is a moot security point, but it does keep the cover tight.

Thanks again. Looking forward to the follow-up!

Yes, it is like the photo. The support rails are attached to the cover, so when you roll it up, the supports are wrapped in the cover.

I'm running bestop roll-up tonneau and just put on the amazon special bed rails about a half hour ago. The clamps go into the c channel and everything still looks like it'll work like a champ.

I'm looking at the Bestop. I was worried about security, but they would have to really want to steal my soccer equipment. Plus I live in a very low crime area and city and never leave my Jeep in a public place longer than 15 minutes. I don't want the added expense of a hard tri fold. Also don't want the metal to be 2000 degrees in the summer in Southern Utah. I also think the twill material on a Jeep just looks better. My main reason for no hard tri fold is they sit lower and my fridge comes up to almost level with the side of the bed. I need that small amount of space to guarantee my fridge fit. With the $1K saved I will probably get a truck bed tent which is also easier with a rollup. If I lived in a big city like Dallas I would get the most secure top I could find. My biggest concern is flapping or buffeting. It will be parked outside in the extreme desert heat.

I have the Tyger roll up. For the money it's hard to beat. IMO it is OEM quality.

Another plus is that the interior cross rails are slightly bowed which A) gives slightly more room and B) keeps water from puddling and sagging the middle of the cover.

That’s what I went with.
I think I need another layer of foam along the front bed edge, under the window. I see some daylight but I’m giving the foam time to expand where it was bent/folded while packaged.

I ended up adding an extra strip of foam tape to mine, just FYI. The stuff they send didn't expand enough to fill the gap. If you get something that's slightly thicker than the remaining gap, you really don't even need adhesive on it. It'll stay in there just from the pressure.

Instead of stacking another strip ontop of the other, I may run new foam tape on the underside of the roll top frame, so that both foam strips mate.

That would be the better way to do it probably. That didn't occur to me when I was doing mine, just was trying to avoid having to clean adhesive off from the already installed foam tape.
