Try some of the Nexen Commercial rated tires for her mail route. I always had good luck with those on the full sized Transit. They did pretty good in all weather as well. Held up for 50-60k miles on the van with regular rotations.
That would be awesome, but it doesn't look like they have her tire size (215/55 R 16). That size is commonly used on compact cars like the Civic, instead of using something heavier-duty.

Back on topic, I ended up getting Nitto Terra Grappler G3s for my Gladiator about 5,000 miles ago, in the stock size for the Willys. They are pretty quiet, have plenty of grip, do well in the rain, and were great at the Bantam Jeep Festival in Butler, PA this past weekend. I got stuck in the mud pit, but most other Jeeps were also getting stuck. It didn't help that I was running the stock plastic "skid plate" that built up a mud ramp in front of the truck. At least it didn't get ripped off when they dragged me out.

I prefer MTs for wheeling in the east where it's often muddy.

But if wheeling is just an occassional thing, might not be worth the on road trade offs.

All depends on what you use your truck for? You won't be disappointed with BFG AT's (either K02's or K03's.). The really only complaint about BFG, is they run small. My 37's are about 36.5 compared to my old General Grabber 35's which were a true 35" tire.

Yes, they will be so much quieter then your MT's. You can go up a size and not worry about rubbing. You could get a 285/70/17 which is about 3/4" taller tire then the 255's. And your speedo won't be that far off, but there are tazer, Jscan, and other options if you want to dial it in.
so if I get the Ko3 in 285/70/17 all should be fine?

I just got new Falken Wildpeake AT3s. Not as easy to find with the AT4s out, but they are out there. Had them previously and thought I didnt like them. Great off road and on pavement. Fairly quiet even when worn. Great on wet roads. I went with KO2s after that and hated them. Enought to take them off and go with KO3s. Hated them and just this week had another set of AT3s mounted. Back to a happy, smooth ride. Will never get another set of BF Goodrichs after the experiences with both the KO2s and KO3s. Cant say enough for the Falkens.

They seem more offroad ish than Ko3 - leaning on the Ko3 because I get 20% off on top of any normal rebates and they should be quieter compared to the Mudders I have been driving for 40k miles. And the Ko3 should last 50k miles with rotation every 5k miles right?

I ran the AT3W that came with my Mojave for just under 600 miles but did some light trails and road and quite frankly except for the size I would have been 100% happy with those tires, they just WORK! But I had my heart set on getting the Gladiator on 35"s and I have the patience of a gnat so I just took off the brand new AT3Ws and mounted 35x11.5 AT$Ws and already put 2k miles of highway and mountain trails over a period of a week. GOD, I love Wildpeaks. ZERO complaints.

Tires can be funny. One person will try the KO2's and hate them, while another will love them. My experience with the KO2's was great. I have tried other tires, but so far the KO2's are the best AT tire I have tried. I have not yet tried the KO3, but assume it will be better.
That said, I would not hesitate to run the Falken's, the Toyo's, or the Mickey Thompson's.
Currently I have Goodyears on the JT, they are OK but not as refined as the BFG's. On our JKU we currently have Nitto RG's, and they are also not as nice. But none of them are "bad".

My KO3s had the same balancing issues as my KO2s had. Neither set would balance well and I kept thinking it was steering linkages wearing out early and quickly. Replaced my tie rod, drag link, and steering dampner. Nope it was the Goodrichs. Back to the Falkens and as I said back to a smooth ride. So I would say be prepared to have the KO3s balanced over and over and over again. And as others have said, that is just my experience and others may not have the same experiences with them. Just saying be prepared. I know it is a known fact that the KO2s have a record of being hard to balance. Thought that may not be an issue with the KO3s, but again in my experience, no better.

I agree. I had 50K miles on the first set of AT3s and again thought I wanted something different. After wasting the money on the other tires, I went right back to the Wildpeakes. I would be fine with the AT4s as well but I was basically given 2 almost new AT3s with about 500 miles on them so I paid for 2 more new ones and had them all mounted. Next set will be the AT4s in another 50K or so miles.

I had the same issue with my 32" (that was relatively big back then) BFG K2s years ago. Tire life was looooong on a two door 2005 TJ and performance was great on the road and off-road. BUT the tires kept going out pf balance and I would have to get them remounted/rebalanced like clock work every 5-6 months or I would get wobble on the front end.

It was NOT death wobble, just that annoying light wobble that you get within a small range of MPH but not above or below. From what I gathered from other friends experiences it seemed to be a problem with the larger tires mounted on the light Jeeps especially if you ran them at highway speeds for extended periods of time (and this Jeep was my DD). I'm sure it's no longer an issue but it kind of soured me to the brand.

I was a Nitto fan until a couple years ago when I destroyed a set of Trail Grapplers in 8 months. Chunked all to hell. Went right back to Falken and couldn’t be happier.
I do miss the Dune Grappler. Had them on my old Expedition in the mid 2000’s. They actually performed well in the desert.
