Um, they give the Jeep low scores for “tech” and complain it doesn’t have any off road modes………without realizing it DOES have an “off road” mode. They need to learn the products better before they try to judge vehicles.

The guy doing the “high speed” test needs to turn in his training wheels. Jeesh, could he go any slower.
Ahem..... The button is called off-road+. Haahaa. And yeah, they should have put a Rubicon Gladiator in the mix, even beside the Mojave if they wanted to be fair. That Rick pile would have been so easy in a Rubi, disconnect the sway bars, probably wouldn't even need either lockers.

Ok….I watched most of the video….…

I think those videoes can be helpful to the average consumer….whom…probably has never owned a truck before and/or has never gone offroading before and wants to dabble in it. You need these kinda videos to help you make a decision. Are they biased? Probably…surely….and that could be based on a lot of reasons - from driver experience and personal preference… to there being some sort of financial gain behind the curtain. Who the hell knows…???

In a nutshell…. It’s impressive to see other manufacturers stepping up to the plate to build more offroad friendly vehicles. However, those same offroad friendly vehicles have on-road comfort that consumers are looking for in one package. It’s a win-win for consumers for having lots of choices. Jeep has been the leader in offraod capabilities for so long and without competition. Jeep still has that reputation…. a HUGE Jeep community and HUGE aftermarket support/following. It’s hard to beat that Jeep aftermarket support that’s been years and years in the making.

It’ll be interesting to see how Jeep responds……. They’re not used to having such competition (and including the Bronco).

In terms of the hierarchy in the real world a
Gladiator is..#1
Raptor #2
Bison #3
Turd #4
Why Humams are the ultimate predator
Raptors eat Bison
Turds are something Bison leave behind them.

I watched only until the fool high centered the mojave. That was user error. Then instead of trying 4L or something to get unstuck, they used the Chevy to winch it out. At that point, I figured the video was equal to the one showing a cyber truck being rescued by an F150 in the snow.

I'd take the bison over the other 2 and the Ford last, but that's because every newer Ford I've owned needed thousands and thousands of dollars of work before 100k miles. Even if you have it to me it would get sold before it cost me money.

That's a good point, I don't even remember that I have that offroad+ button most of the time but you're right, he should have been using that if we wanted to really test out the capabilities apples-to-apples. Every other vehicle got a chance to use its different modes.

I wouldn't even take one if it was given to me . These newer Fords are Junk. TRD is junk . Chevy total junk. A lady works at my wife's office bought one brand new and engine blew up in just a few months. Another guy who I work with has one and engine blew up . I full blown lock up. Chugged to a stop. There is Zero excuse for a motor to lock up like that in just months off the showroom floor.

With engine lock up? Bubbling paint ever leave you stranded? Bubbling paint leave you doa in the middle of a multi-lane freeway hoping the tow truck gets there before a big rig turns your truck into your coffin? That line of thought is exactly why consumer reports and JD power surveys are useless. A broken visor carries the same weight as a blown engine to those idiots.

I was thinking more about the future consequences of the repair.

It seems like paint outside the factory doesn't do as well.

But that's a good point it won't leave you stranded.

I'm not saying I'd be happy if I had bubbling paint (fortunately knock on wood we are on our 2nd JLUR and my JT and haven't had any issues since 2019), but if it was outside of warranty at least you have options. Sand and prime and then get it wrapped for under $3k, if its a single door finding a used one might be cheaper than paint these days, or just run it as my paint already had pinstripes from manzanita and sage brush. An engine failure on the other hand could be fatal, could mean one hell of a hike from whatever remote location I'm out in, certainly can't just run it, and any repair option is 5 figures minimum. Every time people want to debate reliability my mind goes to the same spot, 20-50 miles out some rocky trail with no cell service. Sure the Tacoma will likely be the more reliable road vehicle, but I'm not remotely concerned or impressed with reliability at the Starbucks drive through. A Honda civic is way more reliable for that use. Take all 4 of these trucks and run them through 5+ rated trails on a regular basis and tell me which one is more reliable. Living the life our Jeeps do, there is no more reliable vehicle in my opinion and experience.

I have bubbling paint on mine everywhere. Hood, hinges, doors, tailgate, maybe more if I clean it and look good. It's going to be an expensive warranty repair.

That sucks, it is concerning but at least it's under warranty.
