Blue DEF mfg date / exp date? Help

Just bought 2 jugs of Blue DEF at Lowe’s and the only numbers I’ve found on it are these. Can anyone help me determine when it was manufactured or when it expires? A Google search netted a method didn’t really seem to be correct since it couldn’t have been manufactured in 2026. Haha.

I assume that means it expires 2027-26-01 (Jan 26th, 2027).

That's the most efficient way to format a date in a database or file structure so i admire any company that follows that format. lol

This is the only time I'll accept that metric does something better over measuring in bald eagles.

Based on the results I get from a web search for "bluedef date code 2025", the latest and greatest deciphering has the first four digits are the plant code, the next two are the expiration year (one year from manufacture), next three are the Julian date when it was produced, and the remainder is the batch code.

Based on that, your two boxes were made on the twelfth of January this year. Expiry will be one year from date of manufacture, so you better get to using it soon.

I check my DEF fluid to see if it's any good with one of these. I actually found one bad jug that I returned to Walmart.

Non US would be year-month-day, so I think year-day-month is somehow American ...

I recommend getting a refractometer to test the DEF
