How is cliffhanger btw? Have you done poison spider? How do they compare in difficulty? I’m going in May with a couple forum members and we’re in the process of picking trails. I’m lifted on 37’s, but theirs are less modded at this point. I’m suggesting Fins to start, as they’re new to Moab. But was thinking maybe steel bender and/or cliffhanger as well.
Cliffhanger is a fun trail. You're gonna want full skids. I wouldn't do it with anything less than 37s in a Gladiator. Front and rear lockers ideally. It has some tippy parts that lean you towards a huge cliff. The local Red Rock group rates it an 8 which makes it one of the most difficult in Moab. We went on our own and happened to run into a group partway up. I am glad we tagged along because it helped to have a spotter.

We haven't run Poison Spider but plan to in the future. So I can't compare the two. I think the perfect first day in Moab is Fins/Hell's Revenge. That will give you an idea of how hard of a trail you want to run next. After running Cliffhanger we changed our plans from doing Pritchett the next day to a more relaxing day on Dome Plateau! LOL! Hell's has some great optional obstacles if you want to challenge yourself a bit more. We did a few including Hell's Gate and the Escalator (ended up on our side for a bit).

Frame mounted.

Currently on my 4Runner TRD Pro

Just confirmed to not interfere with Rockblokz (my inquiry) and they are available for with or without “Rubicon Rails.”

Good people to talk to/deal with too.

I’ve done hells revenge as well, and also did the gate. I skipped the escalator and tip over. Other than those two, I opted for the hard lines. I agree. Those are easier. I did poison spider the first time in a bone stock rubicon. No damage, but harder that way. Much easier lifted on 37’s the second time. The way you describe cliffhanger, poison is way easier. Thx. Pritchett is on my list, but not until the belly skid is on.

Have fun! Wish we were heading that way again soon.

Always. I’m lucky enough to only be 4 hours away. With enough notice if you plan a trip, I’m usually game. I used to live in St. Pete, so I know what that drive is. Pretty nasty. :)

I have White Knuckle sliders on order for my JTRD. They said 6 to 8 weeks. So I'm hoping the end of the month.

I've seen an 8,000 lb Power Wagon with White Knuckle's on drop 5ft on to a rock without damage.

I need something with a smooth step mounted high and tight. Have a big dog and don't want a foot to get hung up with bars or holes. The Mopar Enhanced rails look good to me as I don't like rocks much. If they are as strong as the Rubicon Factory rails then I am good. Now to find them. Seems most want about $1200, is that fair?

100% frame or body mount is OK but not both.

I’m not sure I agree. I absolutely don’t like pure body mount. Those are useless. But frame and pinch mounted are just reinforcing a connection that already exists between the body and frame. As long as the frame connection is really solid, it would take a hell of a hit to move the body. The frame mounts will win against flex in the body mounts. By using a bunch, if not all of those pinch weld holes that are usually empty, you’re also reinforcing that entire seam with the steel that’s bolted to it with clamping force. Just my opinion.

This is a great call-out. On my previous truck, with wide open frame-mount tube sliders, my dog missed a jump into the cab, rear paw slid into the open space, tumbled backward, and if I hadn’t been right behind and caught him, he would have badly broken his leg. A long day’s drive out of backcountry from a vet.

I have the RSE Slide Steps that bolt onto the Body Bolts (does that count as frame mount?) and pinch seam.
