We I know that if someone wants to break into your JT you can't stop them, but, you do what you can. Just thought I would share what I did.

Bought "Bunker Hill" window/door alarms from Harbor Freight. Installed one at the rear sliding window and one under the hood. The base of the one under the hood was raise up about half an inch off the frame. It took a little while to get it adjusted. They will sound off if either is open.

Gave your post a "love" because FINALLY, someone isn't griping and moaning about Jeep - but decided to think it through and do something about it.
Also because - gee, what a simple, inexpensive and yet "working" solution to a problem.
A real credit to Jeep owners (and the sort most bosses should appreciate)

Nice! These are crimes of opportunity and while anyone who is committed can get in, if you make it a less attractive target then the neighbors you shift the opportunity balance away from your truck. Alarms going off are an excellent way to do that unless you live in a dense urban area where alarms go off all the time and folks don't bother to look.

I've been in more than one place where an alarm went off and people kept on talking and walking and didn't even look.
I mean - aren't you curious at all?

Not related, but fun anyway - before I retired I used to drive my 73 Javelin to work now and then in nice weather. MPG sucked but it was built for the track, not for a commuter car. Headers into performance mufflers and at that time, the pipes ended right below the axle tubes.
I left a few minutes before many did (I had a special hours arrangement) so was one of the first to start my car. I normally parked facing east with the rest of the lot behind me.
One time I started my car, no chokes so let it warm up a bit before shifting into gear, and I heard a couple of car alarms go off. Weird - i looked and saw no one, I left figuring someone must have bumped a car or two.
A couple of days later I drove it again - and again, when leaving, I started my car, gave it a few seconds to catch its breath and again - I heard car alarms. This is really weird. Now you'd think the second time I'd think about it... nope.
The third time I left and started my car, it happened again and this time I saw I guy running as fast as he could - FOB in hand - toward his car and I realized what was going on. He must have seen me leaving and tried to get to his car before the sound waves from my car did.
After that, I parked facing the other direction - don't know if that helped or he got tired of running out and shutting his alarm off so never armed it after that?
His car was a good 3 or 4 rows across the lot from mine.
Damn good car alarm, IMO!

How do these work? Do they link to your phone or something, and you can disable them temporarily if you want to open the hood or open the window yourself?

People pop the hood and pull the alarm fuse.
It takes a well-prepared thief to be able to know exactly where it was, and which fuse, and have tool in hand to pull THAT fuse. It's not an easy thing for an arthritic thief to pull a mini-fuse in these Jeeps.
By the time they get it - it's at least been honking or beeping for a while. Sometimes that's enough.
Again - anyone determined enough won't give a damn what you've done - they'll keep on working and get it anyway.

But the point is - it's doing SOMETHING instead of sitting back and bitching about these damn Jeeps and that f'n FCA not protecting my Jeep to the extend of Fort Knox.
Sometimes something is better than nothing - in fact, it most often is.

Kudos to anyone thinking and trying something and not sitting back wanting someone else to do it all for them.
We've become a society of sitters-back waiting for things to arrive to our laps, heaven forbid I have to THINK about anything! Jeep - and the world, OWES ME!

I had someone cut through (3) layers of vinyl to get in the cab.... The horn started blowing upon their egress through the front door.... the back cab window and the back topper window could be replaced, but the front topper vinyl is part of the whole canopy. luckily insurance paid...

I dunno what would've detected this other than motion/bump sensors....
They even cut my kids' car seat tether to move it out of the way. All for a pair of sunglasses and a credit card.
