why is this Ford Bronco bs on a jeep forum?
Welllllll, it actually needs to be moved to this area (see below) rather than "general Gladiator topics" where it is now.

We took delivery of my wife's Bronco in early November and the main delay was the hardtop, which Ford covered the cost of since there was a delay. The hard top also came with a headliner. While she waited for it to be built and delivered, Ford sent her various Bronco themed "gifts" along the way, and is still sending them. She paid the MSRP minus the price of the hardtop at our local Ford dealer, which is always 1st or 2nd in the world for volume. Just about the easiest car buying experience I have ever had, and the Bronco has been awesome. It's been on multiple 3 hour+ road trips on top of her daily driving, and we really have zero complaints. I think the difference in us and some of the other folks out there, is that we would've been fine waiting longer, and we were surprised when the dealer called to say it was in. My wife was already in a car that she really enjoyed, so she had all the patience in the world. We could still be waiting now, and she would've been fine with it.

I have a 2.7 Bronco on order and it'll make a nice complement to my Mojave. Been waiting over a year now....

People get all sensitive when Bronco's get brought up around here.
Go figure. It's a Jeep forum. Go to a Mustang forum and talk about Camaro's and see what happens.

On my Expy's liftgate, on the left side of the lower grab handle there was about a silver-dollar (for you yutes, that's 1.5") sized affected area.
That made me laugh.
The Yutes may not get your Yute reference either :)!! It's 30 years old!

I've been reading the Bronco forum and there's no shortage of Jeep bashing.

I'm of the opinion that blind loyalty to an automotive brand is an illogical fallacy.

On the 370Z forum. One guy traded in his Z and bought a new Supra. Now he's trolling the Z forum about how great his Supra is. Everyone has him on the ignore list.

I sell Fords for a living. I can tell you first hand ever motor has its different common issues. Just because its the 5.0 V8 doesn't mean its perfect by any means. They commonly suffer from oil leakage through the head gasket. The 2.7 is actually a great motor. It's biggest flaw is Ford decided to use a composite oil pan on them which commonly leaks. I have seen less issues with the 2.7 Ecoboost then the 3.5 Ecoboost. The 3.5 is notorious for the Cam Phasers. Even the new redesigned 3.5. The 2.7 in the Bronco is actually the Gen 2 motor which has been in the F-150 since the 20 year model just tuned a slight bit differently. Vehicle launches always present some sort of early issue. The 2020 Explorer launch was a disaster and some of the worse problems I have seen. A small handful of 2.7 motor issues is nothing compared to the sheer amount of Explorers that had massive issues at the current gen launch. From my experience I would have ordered a 2.3 Ecoboost. It is probably one of Ford's most solid motors. People are generally suprised by how much get up and go it has.

As a new guy to this forum thanks for having me. I had a 2.7 bronco that I reserved 8-24-20 and ordered last fall. Between all of the drama and crap Ford is putting it's enthusiast through and quality issues, I pulled the trigger on a 21 model hold over Mojave in geco green this morning. Anyway it is great to be on this forum and I was not jerked around by FCA like I was with Ford motor. Thanks! Love the Gladiator!

I read about that a couple of weeks ago or so - I thought they have the cause figured out, and it's resolved because it was a limited batch, was traced and all that.
VWs used to drop valves, and on quite a few engines that were deemed "interference engines" if the timing chain slipped due to wear, valves would hit pistons and tear things up badly.
It's not been a big deal until lately with this, but again, I thought they traced it back to the root....
