This is not uncommon, and covered under warranty. Most of what heard seems to be in the aluminum panels (hood, doors, ...) and the hinges.

I found one area on the hood after a year and reported to the dealer. That was two years ago. Waiting to see if anything else pops up before doing the fix. Nothing else surfaced since. I plan to return for the repair before the warranty expires. (Outer panels are covered for 5 years/unlimited miles. All other panels are 3 years/unlimited miles.)

So far I have paint bubbling on the edge of the hood on the driver's side only.Hopefully that's the only place I get it. I will keep monitoring it.

I saw some on my hood on my 22 JTR, took it to the dealership and they found more. After they got all the parts in, they called me. They had the truck for a week. Ended up getting all 4 doors, the hood, tailgate and all 10 hinges replaced and painted. Told them to leave all emblems and decals off after painting and they gave me all new decals and emblems still in the Mopar packaging. The body shop collected about 14K from Stellantis warranty.

I am having my 2021 Gladiator "re-painted" under the recall warranty (two new doors, and hood hinges being replaced). I am hoping to pick it up early next week - they have had it going on four weeks. All good with the covered rental.

Wanted to pass along a few things I learned:

I visited the dealership on a Saturday for a comp oil change. During the check in process they looked over the Gladiator and noticed the corrosion.

My service attendant then checked my VIN and noted I only had about another 6 months until the corrosion warranty work would be void.

Their corrosion "guy" wasn't in, so I had to go back during the week per their process, as I understood it, that the customer has to bring the corrosion to the attention of the dealership for the warranty. I came back during the week when the corrosion guy was there and we got the Gladiator scheduled.

While there, I inquired about our 2021 Wrangler. That warranty service has around four months remaining. Plan is to have hers inspected upon the return of my Gladiator.

Rental was included under the warranty. Have been enjoying a Durango R/T fully loaded in the meanwhile.

Hope this is useful (and accurate) regarding the warranty time frame.

I have a 2021 snazzberry that has bubbling paint everywhere. It’ll have to go in soon.

Hey all. Good to see Jeep is taking care of it, even the loaners. My question is, if I get this fixed under 5 year warranty, am I going to have the same issue 5 years down the road or are there steps in place during the repair to prevent it from happening again?

It wouldn't surprise me.

The corrosion starts inside the seams where the two layers of metal are assembled. That's why it propagates from the edges and not, say, from the center of a panel.

That's why they start with a new panel - so that it hopefully does not have any existing corrosion inside of it.

But I'd say its totally plausible you see the exact same problem again.

Or maybe you wont...

Mine has it on the driver side of the hood. It started as a little bubble right on the edge and over the last year or two its grown to the size of a nickle.

Same here. I’m on the fence. I have a few months left. If they promised the replaced panels would be warranted for 5 more years, it’d be a no brainer. But I’m considering an aftermarket hood instead.
