Yes, and the plywood, or even cement board, sheetrock, whatever, is pretty well supported. Very easy to load and unload that way as well.This is the setup for plywood.

I was toying with the idea of making semi-permanent pieces with a hinge in the middle either out of aluminum or some type of molded plastic like similar to a traction board.I went a step farther, with a black JT and bed liner, I painted the 2x6 black and put curves on the lower corners so it fits across sitting on the raised bed channels. The 2x6 stays in all the time to create a grocery compartment since we have the bed cover.
