I was just perusing the thread w/ the actual LE window sticker & saw the Rubicon had specific skid plates listed, does anybody know if the Sport/S & Overland have them too?
If they do not, then the cost of them should be accounted for in all the Rubicon vs. _____ comparisons.

I believe they all have the same skid plates. At least the Rubicon and overland do as I went under and checked. The auto transmission has an extra plate for the transmission.

The Rubicon has a steel skid plate on the front under the bumper with the steel front bumper, the Sport and Sport S have a plastic air dam under the front plastic bumper. Under the JT, all trim packages have the same steel skid plates.
Cheers

So does that means it does or doesn't have skid plates because I don't know what sport or Rubicon have - I see someone said with steel bumper the rubicon has a skid plate - does that mean without the steel bumper there is no skidplate?

Do you need to have the Mopar Steel Bumper in order to put on the steel front skid plate?

Good question, but you need the front steel skid plate with the steel front bumper.
Cheers

the only reason I even thought to ask was because I had read that the Mopar steel bumper was needed. Could have sworn it was on the mopar site, but trying to find it I can't. None of the jeep part distributors list the restriction. Maybe I'm wrong. I thought I was wrong about the 150lb driver allowance added to max weight payload but then I ended up finding it on Jeep's website.

Here is what I was thinking of

https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/front-bumper-skid-plate-jeep-wrangler-jl

"Compatible with the factory Rubicon style full width or stubby front steel bumpers with a non-drill installation."

Does that mean you need a steel bumper?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I think I’m missing a rail:
2020-Jeep-Gladiator-Capability-Skid-Plates-Mobile.jpg.image.1000.jpg

From the Jeep wbsite. Looks like the plates on my Sport S. Didnt come with rock rails though
I have the 2020 Gladiator Rubicon, and it has the rock rails on the sides, but not the rail/bar that goes under the exhaust crossover vertically (bottom to top of picture) near the engine (right side of picture). I found the same picture PyrPatriot posted when I looked today on the Jeep website under the Rubicon build, so it’s apparently still supposed to be there. Should I ask my dealer wtf?!? You can see an indentation on my exhaust where it’s supposed to be...

I’m taking it in to the dealer tomorrow (Mopar app and SOS don’t work), so it’d be nice if someone could answer this tonight.

Thanks!
