Greetings

New Here and New to Engines.

I recently have been having some troubles with my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport S. Transmission fluid change. Oil change every 5k. Never go over 2RPM best I can. I do drive a lot and have 80k on the mileage but I’m worried the engine may be failing.

Poor changes in gear 1-3 that is harsh and clunky. Revs in certain gears like it’s stuck in them. Accelerating sounds like a diesel engine running. Initial acceleration from stop seems tough. Idling seems to want to stall out and vibrates abit. So I decided I would change the spark plugs.

When I changed the spark plugs there was oil and some general dark coverage in the exhaust and intake
Manifold. Apparently called “blow by”

put new sparks plugs in and it ran well for 20 miles then blinking engine light came on. Things got worse. And now I am at a loss of where to go from here.

Can you buy bad spark plugs? Are my plugs even the problem?

I had two bolts break on my from the upper intake. Can missing or broken bolts cause such disruption?

I’ve read many many posts but wanted to get a fresh start on my specific issues.

Thanks.

Yes I’ve had defective new spark plugs but that’s rare. I would be very concerned that you have two broken intake manifold bolts that you didn’t extract and replace. That sounds like a leak.

None of your business.
If the OP isn't trolling, --Oh boy.

Your intake is leaking for sure. It also sounds like you may have missed something or broken something else on dis/reassembly.

Your Pentastar's operating range is 800-6500 rpm. You keeping it below 2000rpm is destroying it. Engines have to be fully exercised or they run poorly and fail early.

It may be time to invest in reputable mechanic who can go through your Jeep, fix what's failed, and restore your faith in its performance and reliability.

Then, start driving it like a Jeep and stop driving it like its a frail, fragile, and brittle time-bomb.

Those plugs look nasty. I noticed the threads on some look wet?? Some of the white ceramic on a couple quite yellowed, perhaps got real hot, too hot (guessing). Wrong plugs??

The electrode on that 3rd plug from the bottom looks toast. Zoom in close and look at the carbon build up on that tip.

Depends who you ask
How could anyone keep this engine below 2000 RPMs? I have a sneaky suspicion about this.

I don't want that as a used truck should you ever trade it in.
Man, you are hurting it right there by NOT going over 2,000 RPM!

But that's beside the point because the whole post is almost nonsensical.
Even in the flats of Florida, you can't keep these under 2,000 RPM and not get killed on the interstate. Broken bolts? ok....... another fun thread O boy
