Are AGM tenders different then the old school green one I use on ATVs, SxS and the old CJ5??

Yes. At least if your CJ didn't have a newer battery from the last 5 or so years.

I updated my tazer when I put it back in the car will not start went reverse a bit then locked up says it is not in park when it is.

I had similar issue, Jeep (22 Gladiator) worked fine, then it would not go into park, warning message on dash "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" , Flatbed tow 100KM to nearest dealer. Cause? a rock was on top of transmission blocking the shift from going into park!
