I have a bit of an issue with these type of threads.
Cool product gets attention. We keyboard warrior about it, read a few reviews and have an opinion based on a minimal set of experiences. When people post in forums, it is often because they had a bad experience or issue. Same with reviews. Positive reviews or posts are a minority that want to tell about how awesome it is. If something works, most are happy and move on.
Unless one can just buy it, test it and review it, hard to give actual opinions out.

First my own experience. Called them when they teased it and asked to be included on roll out. I am in Germany, and they told me there is an official partner to talk to.
Haven't heard from the partner, but can buy it there. Then I wanted to ask how this thing displays the Tazer... Website Chat that then converted it to Facebook Messenger???, of course no answer and will follow up by email. Not great.

I know people that have their other infotainment and dials system for the JK as well as Toyota. Neither of them has anything to complain. 2 are programmers and are even able to completely mess and set up their system they want and have made apps that let them do this and that. Night mode etc, Navigational stuff...
No issue getting their faulty unit replaced under warranty, the other guy is running it for a while and off roads his JK pretty hard. No Issues..

I know of an issue with low fuel warnings and getting into contact with them. They are not staffed to answer, which for a product like this is bad. I think their development side is pretty solid and they do fix issues.

Also we Jeepers whine about price... and then drop money on weird stuff like its no biggie

Think he means the lag to display revs and speed on most digital ones.
Sort of... mostly joking, but it's a known issue that at speed the digital speedometer doesn't match the analog one.

For instance, the digital will show 35 but the analog looks much closer to 40.

It's been an issue since the JL in 2018.

I'm incredibly leery of any of these Chinese Android systems having installed what was a fairly well-rated one in my BMW e46-- and it being nothing but a bug-ridden mess.

Given that this thing entirely replaces the dash cluster and screen given so many functions are run through it? No thanks. Last thing I'd want is for the thing to go 10-7 at the worst time, which invariably would happen, and given the lack of QC and tech support these outfits typically have I'd just have lit $2k+ on fire.

The forums on the seller's website are a cavalcade of complaints and issues.

Ok fellas, so here it is. So, it was a bit cumbersome to install as the instructions weren’t the best And I LOVE putting things together. The OS is android based which I’m not a fan of, being an Apple guy, but I’ll figure it out.

overall it’s pretty cool, def makes the jeep feel more futuristic, and losing the vent doesn’t seem like an issue and i live in FL.

i did get it $300 off, but it is pricy. Is it worth it?? I guess that just depends on the person. To me it’s cool enough to justify buying it.

I’m still playing with it but if you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer them.

Does this have the ability to swipe the navigation to behind the steering wheel screen? I have seen this company around before they even brought this out and seems intriguing.

I am new to the Gladiator Forum, I would like to know how things are going with the CarBotor J-Max Pro? Have you had any issue with it?

It is holding up pretty good. The things i wish they would fix/update is the volume. It is rather low ESPECIALLY with the top down.

The oil change message is straight up DUMB!! Def Chinese the way they have it setup. It is constantly telling me to change my oil ASAP when its not needed. Instead of a "check engine" light or something similar it has a dial you have to set and honestly i still havent figured it out to get it to function properly so i just leave it f-ed up...

Also when the washer fluid is low it says something like, please refill washing liquid ASAP.... NOT native english speakers thats for sure.

Their customer service could be better with long delays to respond if they respond at all....

All that to say, its nice, DEF a WOW factor and most everyone that sees it loves it, BUT doing it over again, would i spend the $2k for it, more than likely, NO. But you live and learn...

happy jeeping!

I like the design and options.... looks like a Wrangler icon only. However....

I dont see me spending 2300 tax et al. for something that the seller cant spell better than me in its ads.

Im not a genius but when you arw promoting a product it's probably a good idea to put your best foot forward. Seems rushed to me.

Just mho

Have they not pushed out any software updates for it?

I had looked at some of their other dash replacements a few years ago. Some of the issues those had were fixed with some software updates. Granted the people who had it needed to reach out to them individually and get the update files from emails... Not hosted anywhere online by them.

It was somewhat convoluted if I remember right.
Reach out to them > Download the update sent to you > load on a usb > access the inconvenient usb behind the Carbotor Instrument Cluster > Turn on, wait for it to finish. Some guy I think just put a usb extension cable on it. And ran it behind one of the panels he could easily get to if needed.

they are notoriously late to respond, if at all. I have asked and asked repeatedly without success so I’m just dealing with it. The kit included a USB cable that i have located down by my pedals when if i ever get an update.

I installed the Carobotor dash, head unit, backup camera in my JK when I owned it.
Came with the Mercedes lighted vents but I didn't install them. In the JKs the different
Scenes ( dirt, snow, rock and street) could be swiped to the left to appear on the center cluster!.

Was there any way to get the Navigation to show up on the steering wheel cluster?

Just the compass. As far as roadmaps, not on the Jk.
