CarPlay not working with iPhone 16

Has anyone had issues with CarPlay not working with iPhone 16 ? It worked with iPhone 11. Is there something I need to do to update my info center ?

Have you setup the connection between the new phone and the in car system? Bluetooth, CarPlay? I don't think these transfer from phone to phone when you swap phones.

I set up u connect but I thought that was different than CarPlay. I know when I connect my phone now it doesn’t say car play and my apps are not on the display.

Ok. Now the rest of the story ….. I bought a charger / holder specifically for mounting to the dash on the gladiator. If I use it , it only charges. I hate amazon !!!!!

Might be related: my CarPlay experience has deteriorated since I updated my iPhone 14 to iOS 18 (which I’m assuming your iPhone 16 came with). I can still connect via my wireless adapter, but trying to use apps on the screen results in “there was an error retrieving content”. My music app Pandora no longer shows what’s currently playing, and my Google maps have large swaths of black map areas as I drive around. Might need to remove and re-pair my phone.

Yep, lots of cables only carry power wires in them, no data wires. Gotta be careful these days getting replacement cables from the Jungle.

no. The cable from the charger/holder works great if I remove it from the holder and plug it straight to my phone.

Those phone holders are hit-and-miss. I recently moved from iPhone8 to iPhone15 with no problems after I upgraded the cord I was using.

Also, you are likely already away of this trick but running the cord out of the center console is great. I keeps all the stuff away from the dashboard. I always run CarPlay tho at way now.

That looks like a wireless charger, yeah? If so, that won’t do data. You have to plug direct into the phone for that.
