Air is 78% Nitrogen. They may have seen you coming.
And thus the question as to why anyone bothers?

Around here, the air is 50% methane. Cows and horses across the road.

Pretty sure they figure the driver weight at 150 lbs in their calculation, so add that weight. My Mojave is GVWR 6140, with 1129 lbs. payload capacity, I forget the number but we went across one of my quarry scales and I was amazed at how much I weighed, I think around 5700 lbs. have a RSI Cap, Skid plates and other stuff, and I added 70 lbs. of winch on front bumper since then, but bed was empty I think. You have me wondering now, Quarry is only 30 minutes away, going to have to check...Jack

PS: I have lost a lot of weight myself going from a 38" waist at 235 to a very lose 34" waist at 206lbs. heading to the 195 -200lb. range so I can get a fully belly skid!, now that I have no belly myself! Haha!
Congrats on the weight loss. I'm back to 185 from 210ish during the summer. I got fat and happy during my first 4 years of being retired from the Army............Gain train time now.

Exactly my goal - driven in a bit by the heart doctor saying "next time I see you, I'd like to see you under 200............."
So, hope to drop 25.

And cat scale reminded me of..........

My take - why not just go by the bloody sticker number instead of trying to outguess, out-math or out-engineer engineers? Why is everyone getting hung up on "the numbers don't match" - just follow the sticker and be happy.
But over the last 2+ years multiple threads pop up with people trying to out-think the sticker and find cheats or "this isn't right".
It is what it is. Only some team at FCA knows the math behind it.
I'm a numbers guy and I will question them if they don't reconcile.

Payload = GVWR - curb weight

CAT scale trumps sticker.

In my case, I have more payload available based on actual weigh-in than indicated on the sticker.

Either way it's only a 75lbs difference and plenty of payload for what I need.
