Once you add the brackets, tow bar, tow brake, and fuel.....you will most definitely be over 5k. I'd be looking at other hitch options so you can buy the truck you want.

2022 Diesel sport S stock everything 5,150lbs. full of def fluid which is 50lbs or so.

2020 Gladiator sport s on 35" BFG's was 4650lbs.

In the lit the only one over 5k is the Rubi, & it’s less than 5100.

weighted my rubi as part I’d Cali registration for out of state purchase. New, 5400lb. (I was outside the truck)

Funny, I did the same - CA certified CAT scale for new registration of out-of-state-purchase. 22 JTRD + alu bumper and winch (+92lbs or so), only 1/8 tank of diesel, no driver = 5500 lbs. I guess all those options really add up

Funny thing is, no one mentioned it at the DMV desk. Is it actually needed? Did you get an order to get it? Or perhaps it's case-by-case and down to familiarity of the agent with various vehicles

It’s on the DMV’s website and the person at the kiosk took all that in before handing registration. I had to do weight, vin inspection and smog (major pita on a brand new diesel as most computers aren’t ready yet). Forgot to mention I have steel bumper and mud terrains. But I don’t have safety radar, etc which I believe also adds some weight
