Has anyone bought one of these? I like the look of the Rubicon three peice steel bumper for my sport s, but $1000 is steep and I think I'd also need to convert my headlights to led

I'm also hoping somebody will take the plunge with that bumper and post back what the quality is like.

I had it in my watch list when it was still $425. Ended up getting an 'open box' bumper from Extreme Terrain for $240 and about $500 less than the 'brand new' price.

There's also an apparently identical version for the JK that's even cheaper at $334. On the JL forums, people have found that all you have to do is drill out a single hole larger and it works perfectly. I'm tempted to be a cheap bastard and go for the JK version. That's well under stimulus money cost.

I have noticed that whether you get the JK or JL/JT version, it has extra holes for sensors, presumably for another market that has front sensors.

I had this bumper and I would rate it a 6 out of 10. I have a new JT and now have the oem and it’s. 10/10.

what I didn’t like about the knock off one:
-thinner than the oem felt cheep
-plastic bump outs were cheaply scuffed really bad and faded really quickly. Looked like they were knock offs.
-tow hook mount bolts are not held in place by anything and will likely become spinners with no way to put a wrench in there to tighten them down. (I actually had one on either side that were not able to tighten.
-the mounting bracket for the lights did not work with my leds and I had to essentially glue them in place for them to stay.
-the winch plate is super cheep and luckily never had to use it. Would not trust.
-came with silver hardware that had to be painted black to match bumper.
-alignment was off and had to really fight with it to get it back together after I assembling to install fog lights/paint tow hooks.
-mine also came dented and had to hammer it out and repaint. They took off 100$ though.

overall I would say the oem is 100% worth the extra money. Just looks like it belongs vs this one.
