Is this really an issue? Never had to replace. Lowest failure rate of any vehicle i have owned.

I am too slow in the glady to tail gate. Which was mostly the cause in prior cars.

First one was a teeny little chip that couldn't be detected without a bright light at the right angle which caused a crack. That happened about 4 or 5 months in.
Second one - in the same JT - was the month before I had agreed to trade it to the dealership for a 2022 model. Since the agreement was done before the crack, had to replace it again.
Twice in 2 and 1/2 years in the same JT.

So far, so good on this one, the 2022. But then I've not yet reached 1 year with it.

My wife has a 2017 Subaru Outback, and we've replaced her windshield four times already, and she only has 70000 miles on it. My Ford Transit(yuk) work van has 26000 miles and it has been replaced twice.
My 1969 Satellite had 245000 miles on it, and the windshield was fine, other than discoloration around the edges from age. I had to break it out with a hammer during the restoration, and it didn't even chip the first FIVE TIMES I hit it. Maybe it is the quality of glass being produced today.

Any pics of the Satellite?

My Grandfather had a 1970 2dr Satellite Sport Black on Black as a company car when he worked for 3M back in the day. Was suppose to have gotten the 4 dr Wagon but somebody "screwed up" the fleet order. Had it for two years before somebody realized the mistake and put him back in a 4dr wagon.

Who are the companies in Calgary, I am headed that way shortly and will need a windshiled on the road...
1st place is:
CalAlta AUTO GLASS
8, 3927 Edmonton Trail, NE
Calgary, AB
403-291-7020
(There’s a couple shops around town and they always run a ā€œveterans food driveā€ so if you bring some canned goods they knock off $120cad on the price so it works out to $229 cad) I had mine last done AUGUST 2022.

2. GO GLASS
#11 141 Crowfoot Way NW
Calgary, AB
403-374-8510

Something is different.
Daily driven 1983 CJ-7 until 2003, stock windshield. When it became a buggy I lost the original to a flop. Also have a 1998 TJ with 178,XXX miles and it has the factory windshield,

On the other hand, look at all of the JL and JT owners who have not had a broken windshield.

I opted for the Gorilla Glass on my JT after my JL windshield cracked quickly. Jury is still out on it though.

Maybe the 2024 windshields will fix the issue with the extra support of the antenna ?.

I'm on my second windshield with only 3k on the odometer and It's only 10 months old. Luckily the windshields aren't too expensive

Honestly, i didn’t think that chips/cracks would be this bad; I’ve replaced/repaired my Gladiator windshields more than the combined repairs of all of my windshields for the previous 20+ years combined. That being said, I now look for ( and take action ) for the following:
1) remove rocks from the front tires as soon as leaving the trail or gravel roads
2) looking for some kind of protection, for the 3ā€ of edge around the glass
3) take even more care on the highway to stay out of the ā€˜bounce zone’ for heavy trucks and rock haulers
4) don’t leave the remote start on so long that heats up the inside of the windshield aggressively at the bottom. Also fold the blinds out to capture heat near the top, and use square plugs to spread the heat more evenly from the middle to the left/right.
5) a bug deflector?

Some of these things are clearly on the vehicle owner, and some of these things are undoubtedly poor design by the manufacturer.

Rather than punish FCA, I would love to see a better glass implementation. Gorilla glass is a start, but we have a long way to go.
Living in a mainly rural state of New Mexico, with many state and county dirt roads, it's impossible to avoid thrown rocks. That said, my five Tacomas has only one windshield crack from a thrown rock, chips yes, but not cracking from a ding.

POS batteries should be included
The problem there is that from what I'm hearing it's not only Jeep - although they seem to have the biggest issue. I talked with a guy waiting in line in NAPA a couple of weeks back - he owns NO Jeeps and says he can't get batteries in his cars to last past 3 years if he's lucky. NAPA was busy - big sale that day, didn't get a chance to ask him more.
And we can't blame anything except the batteries (and perhaps parasitic loads and how drivers don't drive them) as it happens even to the 12v batteries in the 4xe's
