Currently have the AEV 2.5” Dualsport Suspension lift.
I’m adding a bed rack (roughly 100-110 lbs.) and a RTT (approximately 150 lbs.).
I have the knock off Mopar steel front bumper and will be adding a winch.

Question is will I need to change out to the AEV 3” HD springs or some equivalent? My RTT will only be mounted when I travel.

I have also decided to re gear to 4.88

thanks in advance for any advice/response that is offered.

I run the standard aev springs when I tow with 500-600 pound hitch weight and I still have rake.

I would add your stuff, load for a camping trip and test it. You may be suppressed. Worse case you then decide to swap the rears.

I agree that you might as well test it. No harm. But if you have problems, the teraflex HD (Outback) springs are fantastic.

With that AEV 2.5 is there any cons. I currently have a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon and plan on getting the AEV kit , considered the Mopar 2" lift also. Any advice would be welcome.

The cons are their stamped brackets in my opinion. I’m a teraflex person myself when it comes to springs and control arms.

What rack are you getting? I have a slight rake on mine with the rack slightly loaded. If I put an RTT up there, I will likely level out. I have considered getting bags for the rear to help when I load up.

If it were me, I’d consider appropriate springs instead. Air bags are only needed if your springs aren’t up to the task on their own. And springs are cheap.

No cons IMO. Solid kit and customer service is A+. Some don’t like the stamped geometry correction brackets and would rather have front adjustable control arms. For me they work and I have no problems with them. They are built solid. I can see they might be an issue for hard core off roading but I would have gone with a different kit if that was my intended purpose. I believe the Mopar kit doesn’t address the front or rear rear track bars and doesn’t include a driveshaft carrier spacer. The AEV says no need to mess with front track bar and does provide a rear track bar relocation bracket. On a former Jeep l added a Steersmarts front adjustable track bar and a Rock Krawler rear track bar relocation mount and I was very happy with both. I will likely add a Steersmarts front track bar to my current set up but it hasn’t been a priority as I’ve spent my money elsewhere on my build.

I keep changing my mind on racks.
- Rockslide engineering with flip up sides
- xtrusion overland
- Lost canyon mid height rack
- Rebel off-road mid height rack

I underestimated the weight of the rack. These are closer to the 150-160 lb range before adding accessories.

I went back and forth for three years and never bought one. If a tent isn’t the goal, I could not be happier with my Billie Bar 1/4” steel mole panels. They’ll take rotopax, accessories, boxes, whatever. And they don’t add much weight. My biggest gripe about the rack options was the inability to easily get my full height bed back for tall loads. No issues with these. They’re not an over the top system, but for me that’s exactly the point. Not much weight added, and no restrictions to how I can use the truck. But I love my jackknife transformer.

The Rockslide Engineering overland rack allows you to take top crossbars off and still use your truck’s bed for tall items. This is very appealing to me.

If you haven’t bought the rack and tent. Look into a Harker (300-350 lbs ) totally enclosed. Then size for it
