Is it a case where it's holding on the temperature it was outside when you shut off the Jeep previously? What if you as a test turn it on below 40 and then wait until it registers that and then turn it off and on again to see what it does?

Also I am not sure if it matters, but I always leave Auto enabled on the HVAC set to 68, I haven't had any issues with it doing the defroster on remote start.
So do I and each time I do a remote start the fan is on high blowing out the defrost.

It really shouldn’t matter. I drove it Wednesday and turned it off that evening. Didn’t get in it all Thursday and got it in Friday morning at about 25° Temps parked outside and it didn’t recognize the cold. It ran for a few minutes and when I got in the displays said 43°

Someone needs to design an extension bracket to move the sensor closer to the grill.

I gave up and just to out tot he truck and turn everything on manually. Plus its rarely below 40 here but when i travel to snowboard it is. Plus it shuts of after 10 min. My wife and kids take way longer that 10 min to get ready. HAHA

Having a Tazer turns on both seats.
Factory remote run time is 15 mins.

Can you adjust the temp setting or time limit through the 'Settings' menu?

40 degrees is the magic number. With that said, I have the same issue on occasion when remote starting mine. I park facing south at work when the sun is shining the temp sensor will definitely read higher than 40 and not enable the heated seat or wheel. On cloudy days or extreme cold all works well. Gotta love that toasty seat and wheel! ♨
