Today, went up and over Georgia Pass, with a return drive over Boreas Pass. A little muddy in spots but a great ride.

Back from Ouray. Did Ophir, Imogene and Yankee Boy Basin. Quite the experience doing them after 5 hours in the car. Video is of the shelf on Ophir. Got up at 5am. Drove to Ouray and knocked out Ophir and Imogene right when we arrived. Great trails. Imogene was packed. Most people were cool. About half had no clue of trail etiquette. Wanted to Alpine Loop, but the weather was unpredictable. Did not want to risk being on shelf roads in a thunderstorm, to to mention a 7 hour plus trail. Yankee Boy got shockingly technical at the top. But it was wet and muddy so that added to the fun. Love how the JT just gets after it. Check the Stock JT on Imogene. Yup, I'd go back again.

Last year, September, we got caught at the top of engineers pass when it started snowing/sleet in a freaky fast storm. We got down to Lake City, then took the long way back to Ouray, north to hwy 50 back to Montrose and south to Ouray. Alpine loop is just so freaking long, good weather is a must. No way we were going to try the second half back, or return on Engineers Pass.

You JUST described the nightmare scenario I wanted to avoid. Glad you made it.

It's been a few years since I was there, but from the video/pics it looks like you drove Telluride to Ouray on Imogene? What day of the week did you do that? Wondering if it was a weekday or weekend being packed.

I ran Ophir from Ouray to Telluride. Then Imogene back to Ouray. It was a Monday and Ophir was pretty dead. Imogene was hopping. By Tuesday most people had cleared out.

Weird, maybe Imogene is becoming more popular of the two. Thanks, looks like a blast.

It was a blast. Felt like I increased my skills for sure. Imogene had a lot of large groups on the trail on Monday. One group of vintage Land Cruisers was beyond awesome. had to have been 12 or so.

Today was Red Cone Peak and Webster's Pass. The trail was awesome. I'll have time lapse video later. The main obstacle is doable in a mostly stock Gladiator, just a few little skid plate scapes. That video of the obstacle will also be later as I'm waiting on it to be sent to me.

Headed to Buena Vista tomorrow. Gonna take the JT up the Mount Princeton road, put up a tent at the top, and see if I can’t tag another 14er summit on Sunday morning wife the wife.
Hopefully I’ll have some pics for you when we get back.
