Anyone have any experience or pictures of doing this?

I feel like this is quite common with older 2 and 4 door Jeeps, but I have never seen this done on a Gladiator.

And this is keeping stock front fenders.

Any suggestions?

I've had several friends who experimented with going fenderless, and they all went back to running fenders. It's not illegal here in Tennessee, but the amount of mud on the vehicles I've seen without fenders should be. I'm my opinion, it looks great on Gladiators lifted 6" or more, but not so much on stock or mildly lifted trucks.

It’s illegal here in PA…. You have to have the OEM fenders (or similar sized) and the tires can’t poke.

Not necessarily enforced - but - gives the cops an excuse to pull you over.

You’d fail the yearly inspections…unless you have a mechanic who’s willing to look past it and sign-off that you passed inspection.

Yeah, here in PA, your tires CANNOT extend any more than one inch from the fender lip. Ergo, it's totally illegal to run without fenders.

How some of these guys with stock fenders and really big tires (that are obviously more than one inch outside of the fenders) get away with it, passing inspections, and etc., is beyond me.

100% legal in NV!

Please don't do this and drive on public roads. Its bad enough that some run with tires wider than the fenders are in part, meant to help from launching rocks, bolts or other missles off the roadways. While my posted picture is the day I bought my Gladiator, I completed the addition of rear wheel well flaps after this photo was taken. The Rubicon wheels and tires the former owner put on this Sport S are great. The front and rear flaps will at least stop pretty much anything that could be launched upwards at vehicles behind my road travels.

Whats really great about these flaps is that I can remove them from their mounting brackets in minutes. Perfect for off-road since flaps might get ripped off over logs, rocks, etc. Usually off-road drving is at lower speeds so anything coming out of the tire treads won't be launched at city or highways speeds.

Fenderless bodies certainly help in some forms of off-road situations. If just to look cool on public roads, its a hazard. And I think illegal in some states.

Just because something may be "legal" still does not make it a good idea.

Not a chance I'd run without them either I'm in N. AL. To much crap getting launched already from my tires, actually why I swapped for the OEM running boards too. Cuts down tires throwing crap all over my Gladiator beating the paint off. The chipped paint on my Wrangler is bad enough.
If you are concerned about the finish of your vehicle you will start looking for even wider to protect it unless it's a pavement princess Sunday driver if it's not raining. ;)

hmm… I am still tempted. Many Jeeps in town run it this way.

It's your vehicle and you can make that choice as an adult.

There have been a few threads on these forums asking if other folks were stopping to clear their treads of rocks after a trip on gravel/forest service roads. It's always surprising to me how many responses amounted to "IDGAF, I'll do what I want".

I'm old, and possibly in the minority, but at least everyone behind me on the road can rest assured I am not an asshat that is actively trying to ruin their day.
