Considering selling my 2 door JK for a Gladiator. Do I have realistic expectations?

We travel 285 from Denver to the Wolf Creek area often. It can get quite windy, and the Jeep is no worse than my Tundra was in crosswind.

I definitely feel a headwind more, but it’s not hard to control.

And the 3.6 has good power on the passes.
Yes, The engine does fine on our passes too. I did sea level up to 8,000 feet of climbing yesterday, and other than the mpg hit, there is never an issue.

That's the beauty of the fuel injection we enjoy today.
It automatically compensates for higher altitudes
to maintain the correct stoichiometric ratio of air to fuel.

I’m in the process of selling my 2 door. I figure at this stage of my life and very soon, a 4 door truck is more practical for me. I’ll most likely build an older Jeep up one day to be a dedicated rock crawler.

I still want to do another 80’s CJ again. I wasn’t in the position to do it correctly when I had one 15 years ago. I should have kept it. It was a cheap starting point and those days are long gone. Someday that’ll be my dream classic car rebuild. CJ with original AMC. The only thing that would stop me is if it’s a choice between that and my wife. :)

Wife and I, 3 boys and a dog. We absolutely love it and tow a 4500 lb camper. It won't work as the boys get older and bigger but it works well right now there's room behind the front seats, kids are in boosters and a car seat so there's a decent amount of room before their feet. Dog is in the bed under a soft topper. No gear at all in the truck everything in the camper. Just snacks for the kids are in the cab with us.

If we're not towing, and dog is at home, tons of room in the bed under a tonneau cover. I'm very happy with the ride and setup. Have a long trip coming up, Chicago to Maine, can't wait

It's great having a bed for hauling stuff, many hardware store trips, hauling lumber, landscaping stuff, drywall, tools... I'll never go back to not having a truck and I hope this one lasts me a looooong time

My neighbor just finally completed his 86 CJ-7 Laredo rebuild . Although he had a body shop do the restoration and en engine shop rebild the engine. I forgot what he said they did to the stock 258 but it does sound damn good. I remember him saying there wasn’t a whole lot you could do but they did something to the head or ?? and it sounds definitely NOT stock.

I noticed the 2023 is still up on the build and price. Anyone know if I could still order a 23 brand new? Not too fond of the look or added features to the 2024

The Jeep website still shows 2023 inventory when you search nationwide.

We have a friend in Florida that just bought a loaded ‘23 Mohave stickered at 70k, but paid under 50. Crazy deals on 23’s right now.

Seriously. We bought our 21 rubicon for 52 in 21. High 40’s for a 23 Mohave with more features is just insane.

I'm probably upside-down in mine - just the vehicle not even considering the aftermarket goodies. I dont even want to think about it. But prices in my area are stupid. It's probably the highest priced area in the country. AAAllllll because people want to flock to Montana thinking it's the best place EVER and of course the rich destroy the economy and everyone wants to screw over their neighbor trying to become a millionaire. It's honestly no better than Seattle at this point, sad to say. Cost wise anyway.

Did a bit of research into the paint corrosion issues, It just makes me worry especially buying used because I'm afraid If I did have corrosion I wouldn't be able to warranty it. I am incredibly OCD when it comes to stuff like this, So I just know I would notice every and all corrosion/bubbling on the jeep. I cant believe Jeep has been letting this go on since 2018...
