Is the badge the same as the driver’s side? What was the process to make it happen?

Unscrew antenna, remove plastic trim over antenna housing (or break off plastic). Unscrew the 3 bolts holding on the bracket, disconnect antenna wire & push back into fender, clean area real good with rubbing alcohol & apply trail rated badge.
The indent in the passenger side fender is the exact size as the driver's side so the badge is the same as the driver's. You don't have to worry about patching over the holes where the bolts were or antenna comes out cause it's a wet fender system and if water some how makes it past the adhesive back of the badge it will drain out somewhere underneath the vehicle and not make it inside.

So as the radio can technically work without the need for the long whiplike antenna, and I saw the damage from one going through a carwash (another thread), I decided to go with a short one.

But a generic small antenna is boring. I came across this, and really like it!

Quadratec 16" works well for me. I think it looks better. Too stubby looks kinda silly imo.

Am fm comes in better than xm on these trucks with the crappy sat antenna placement.

Plus, there is something to be said for local broadcasts.

There's a good classic country station about 40 miles north of me that does a "public yard sale" everyday at noon. Viewers call in and describe what they have for sale and everything. It's pretty neat. So it's nice to still have access to FM.

This makes me consider losing the trail rated badge and mounting a CB antenna in it's place. I'll have to think about it.

Deleted mine all together. I don't ever listen to radio channels so I don't see the point of an antenna and the short ones to me just don't look right. Just my opinion.

What about Travelers' Information Station, TIS, also called Highway Advisory Radio?
