Waiting on approval to have my new to me 2022 Willys 45k miles hood repainted. Tiny spot just behind the drivers side hood latch and pitting near the passenger side hood hinge well. Local dealer doesn’t have body shop, quick stop there to document with service advisor, then off to recommend body shop for more documentation and consult. Back to dealer with quite and submit claim. Body shop has done several and is sure it will be approved for full hood repaint.

When it comes to the paint warranty, make sure they inspect "Everything"!! I had the same small bubbling on the hood. When I took it in they inspected the entire vehicle. Under the door by all the welds, door hinges, lower tailgate welds, etc... I went from a hood replacement too all 4 doors and a tailgate. If you don't know where and what to look for you will definitely miss it. Just an FYI

I take it this fix has not been addressed at the factory, and even new ones will continue to have this problem down the road?

Still a guess because it's too early, but I'd assume yes.

Mine took a little over 2.5 years from build date to bubbling paint.

My 21 had it on leading edge of the hood., now I have a 25 I purchased new in Febuary of this year, so I guess the clock starts ticking.

It depends on your location and dealership. My local dealership had their own body shop so the dealership handled everything on mine. For dealers without their own body shop it sounds like you have to get a quote from some body shops. The first stop would be the dealership who would do the initial inspection to see if it is covered under warranty and then give you the next steps.
MaximusTX said it perfect…ONLY go to a Jeep dealership that has an in house body shop. They will inspect it and submit it to Jeep for warranty approval.

My 2021 JT went into the AutoNation Jeep Roseville to be repaired for bubbling paint around the edges of the hood. The body shop has to replace the entire hood. Jeep has a backorder on the hood with my delivery date estimated at Oct 4th. It's taking over 2 months to repair. UGH!!!!!!

I’m a big believer in fluid film treatment to prevent corrosion.

Sadly, the bare aluminum hood develops a thin oxide layer almost immediately after being exposed to air. When the panel wasn't properly cleaned, chemically treated, and primed with the correct etching or epoxy primer, the paint may not bond well. Over time, the paint lifts and forms blisters.

This is also why Jeep is switching from aluminum hoods back to steel.

No dealers anywhere near me had a body shop. I was told by jeep customer service what body shop to take it to, I drove 75 miles round trip for the estimate and then called the customer service with the quote.... Oh no you can't do that, it has to be a dealer with a body shop... We went back and fourth, I told the same story to 8 different empty heads on the phone.... Then they asked me what all of the zip codes near me was ??? I went around and around and around, my dealer wouldn't get involved or offer any help. Long story short, I just got my Jeep back from a local body shop after paying for it myself. This is just my opinion, but I think soggy toilet paper has more use than the corrosion warranty that came with my Jeep. Corrosion around the upper windshield frame, around the hood hinge, inside hood around the seam sealer edge.

Escalated my hood replacement with Jeep Cares and they created a case number. Still haven't made any tangible progress to get my jeep JT back. It's still going to take 2 months to replace the hood. Last time I buy a jeep product since they don't support customers.

They are currently assembling jeeps but can't pull material off the production line to support existing customers. Pathetic.

I feel your pain, my wounds still haven't healed. Corrosion warranty in my case was written on soggy toilet paper.
