So I am not the greatest when it comes to mechanics, wiring, etc but would like to do somethings myself where possible. I got a pair of Harbor Freight 3" Road Shock spots off of Marketplace for $50 and I purchased the Harbor Freight Wiring harness and some Zroad Cowl Brackets. Want to wire them to my Auxilary switch. I am assuming from some previous info will need to cut the wiring harness and then make some changes to get it tor work with the lights and switch. I tried to find some videos but so far have not run across a lot.
Getting the lights mounted won't be any issue. Would I cut the harness and then reconnect the battery cable section to the harness plugs that connect to the lights correct?. Then strip the red battery connector cable so that I can wire that to the Aux switch wire and then seal it up as well as connecting the ground wire to the grounding port on the JT ? Will Electrical tape suffice for the reconnection points or would something else work better ? Should I run the wire under the section where the windshield wiper blades are or just someplace in the engine bay ?
