I finally got my Suntop and installed it. It was a pain in the ass but the end result is worth it.

Love the tan. I have mine in tan as well, but getting the brackets paint matched. Should have it installed next week.

IMHO and I have the factory soft top , I would get the factory soft top for ease of operation , don't let the man bun haters sway you. I can leave my house flip the top open get where I am going or while getting there and put it back down in seconds.

so question is, do you guys feel that it's worth the price or would finding a used factory soft top be a better option?
looking to run something all summer long and it's gotta be waterproof for sure and easy to remote/pull down.

Yea, who cares what the jeep looks like on the outside, it's all about creature comforts. You should get a fanny pack as well. There's so much you can put in those things and you always have it on your waist and easily accessible. Sometimes I pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in case I get hungry or deck of cards in case I want to play solitare. You can even bring your own wet wipes in your fanny pack as well. The possibilities are endless.

This looks great! I didn’t know this came in anything but black.

Is Suntop the same company asSoftopper or is that Besttop? I just ordered the Softopper in tan, I wonder how close in color the tan is.

So I installed my Sun Top soft top this weekend and so far I love it. It arrived from Italy to Canada exactly 8 days after I sent my payment. I did get stuck with import and duty of $168.24, the government wants their money! Problems were, the velcro strip is still wrong. Not sure why they haven't fixed this yet, I'm pretty sure they know about it. Missing 1 washer and 1 button screw. Not a big deal I picked up black button screws and like the black better. The nuts and bolts were in a small bag but it was only stapled shut so a few things fell out and were loose in the box. Had no problem installing and the threaded bracket in the back corners they went in very easily. I put them in on the diagonal and started to thread the screw, once it caught I just slid the bracket under the back panel and tightened it. Not sure if some models have less space under the back panel but I'm a sport. I did fight to get the driver side roomerang straight and that took about 10 minutes. It took almost two hours but some of that time was spent trying to figure out the crappy instructions and lining up the door channels correctly. I'm happy with the final look and when the top is rolled up it fits nicely over the visors so I don't notice it. It's easy to open and close the top, I can do it by myself in a minute or two. If you really hate the roll at the front you can unbolt it but you need to bolt the plate back after you take the roll off. The roll honestly does not bother me as much as I thought it would. I did have to fight a bit harder to get my hammock up as I had to put it through the front door panels and part of it ended up under the front bar which made it a bit squishy so if you have a hammock and enjoy it keep that in mind. After reading some of the comments on this thread it's going to be a personal preference as to which soft top to pick. I think both are great but it's going to come down to looks. I prefer the roll to having the top hanging off the back but that's just my preference. Pick the top you like and don't worry about others opinions about it.

Does anyone have the direct email for Eric? I know there are delays here - as with tons of other things right now - just curious if they will give me a best guess updates ETA on when mine will be ready. Still haven’t heard back after I requested to get on the preorder list and then sent follow up request six or so weeks later. Just sounds like emailing Eric directly my be better route. Thanks in advance, and congrats to those already rocking theirs. Think they look great and can’t wait to get mine.

One other thing - when I got my stingray, I considered having my black top painted tan to resemble some of the older scrambler / renegade tan tops. Went back and forth on how that may look as color combo and never pulled trigger revisiting this - any strong thoughts or pics anyone has seen with stingray and tan?

In my opinion yes, pretty fast to take off(2-3 mins) then to cover I’d say 4-5 mins to put rear window in and unroll top, to be covered I personally think it looks better than Oem with it being folded back, I drove 7 hours up to Ohio with my wife and dogs it can be a little noisy but so far no complaints
so how loud compared to HT? Does it flap a lot on hwy?

I like that idea, Stingray and tan. I think it would look good myself. It would definitely stand out.

Same here. I think it's perfect for what you want. At just over 1/2 the cost of an OEM top used (if you can find one) it's a good deal.

In retrospect, however, I wish I had just gotten the dual top group. The primary reason I didn't is because I don't like the bed cover options they shove down your throat. I should have just bit the bullet and resold the cover to get what I wanted, but I had already spent $55k out the door by the time I checked all the other "must have" boxes so I made the best decision given the knowledge I had at the time.

Also, the 'man bun' may not be loved by all but it looks a heck of a lot better than a roll on top of the windshield. JMO of course.
