Been dying for something like this, so much so that I was thinking of just tapping my stock sliders and attaching a step I cut off something else. I have to say not a huge fan of the angular shape that looks more like it would go with a cybertruck but probably wouldnt prevent me from ordering them.

We appreciate the feedback!!

The final production shape is not going to be so sharp and angular. We've made numerous prototypes and test units as we have developed, revised and road tested. It is just easier and more cost-effective to make it like this during the development phase.

The dimensions and angles will remain the same on the production unit, but the lines and the fronts of the side frames will be more rounded on the actual production unit to have better synergy with the factory rails.

All of our products are made in the USA.

We are located in Carlsbad, CA and all of our products globally ship from here in San Diego County, and we'd love to add you to the NXTGEN family when ready.
On a personal note…. The price point is fair for an all american made product. Especially if you are using american made steel and not imported Chinese steel. I welded a set of JK steps to my sliders because I couldn’t find anything like this. I think this is interesting and innovative

I guess depends how easy these are to put on and off and how securely they stay on once locked in. My steps bang the hell out of rocks one trip and held up but annoying. But need steps for my wife but rather have rails. This is about what I would look at for replacement. If price is close to that mark and hear from some early users that it works I'd be considering those.

Yes, we are trying to provide as much value as possible. The steel is a very high grade.

Here is a look at the machining of the clamps before coating.

If you have not done so, take a look at the video we posted in post 1.

The distance between the Jeep and the rails varies a lot from the factory. So some Jeeps will need to take the rails off, add included spacers and put them back on. You also need to put the clamps on.

So the initial install is a bit more involved, but then it is just a few small screw per side on each step and they drop right off. For a lot off off roading, you can leave the clamps on and simply drop the step. For really extreme wheeling, 2 more screws drops each clamp. Therefore, you can choose between bare rails, clamps only or full steps.

@GWolgamott

These are the 4 screws per side of the step to the clamp to secure or drop it.

I might have missed it. Where will it be fabricated? Also will there be a discount for preorders or a group buy option?

We are based out of the San Diego area.

Our products are all US based and everything ships out of Southern California for global orders.

Many of our other products are available via Amazon prime, etc.; however, we will be the only ones to retail the steps globally for the foreseeable future.

When we get closer to wrapping up production, we will send out information for the initial pre-order. We are not interested in taking anyone’s money and making them wait weeks or months, so we will open up the initial pre-order when we are certain that we are about 7 to 10 days away from being able to ship the initial production run of the first several hundred sets.

Due to the massive investment in developing, tooling, and bringing the first several hundred sets to market, we don’t anticipate any discounting on the first production run or two; however, after that we do run specials for group members from time to time.

We are putting the finishing touches on the molds to mass produce, as all of our testers were machined. It will take some time to create those, test them, and then start ramping up production. We are anticipating being able to ship sometime in January hopefully.

You already sound better than the other $hit company (Archtype Racing) that stole money from 100's of Jeepers. Hopefully your customer service is top notch, because I will never deal with another company like archtype. I am definitely interested.

@Tony L @Jerhemi

No disrespect to anyone who was associated with that company (Archtype Racing), I believe they have gone out of business. But this is not our first rodeo and it seems like maybe it was theirs...

Customer service is our business and we take it very seriously. I'm the owner of the company and under the NXTGEN family of businesses, we have 3 companies that all make custom products.

We've been building full custom products since 1979, and our very first business is actually an inflatable company. Similar to automotive accessories, about 98%+ of custom commercial and advertising and parade inflatable products are made overseas and we are one of a very select few to do it here. We are also one of maybe 3 US based companies to custom design and create giant helium parade balloons and not job it out as a reseller: https://www.nextgenerationinflatables.com
We've worked with every major corporation, brand and event around the world. There is a good chance you've seen our products in the wild.

Cars have always been a passion of mine and I started NXTGEN Automotive about a decade ago, as a side thing. But it has grown into our largest company of the 3 and Jeep's and BMWs are my persona favorites. Of the several vehicles in my garage they are Jeeps and BMWs. We make stuff for most brands including several Tesla products. I also mean no disrespect to the Tesla owners or Tesla fans but I'd personally never own one and I don't like EV's. I'm a gear head and I'd rather have basic Wrangler with no power options like the test mule in the video vs some space-age EV.

Once we have a non-test mule to share, our website will be updated with a detailed section about the steps product and it will be very clear that they are a US product. We will also have a very detailed instructional section too. https://nxtgenautomotive.com

We're a proud member of the Jeep community and we'll do it right! ✌

I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" but also pretty cheap and don't always need to get quite this much. Maybe i'll see you guys next year around Black Friday? who knows. I love the concept and would be buyer, just not at that price point.
