I saw the notice in the app about a week ago. I've got the dealership taking care of it next week when I bring it in for an oil change

yeah. basically it means that the part within a lock that spins when you put a key in it and twist can over-rotate and get stuck.

I removed my tailgate when I installed an Alu-Cab Canopy Camper... I wonder if they'll service the tailgate if I bring it to the dealer as a loose part? I don't plan on needing the tailgate again, but who knows

My tailgate has jammed and I have a hard cover on the bed. It was a challenge to get in it. I haven't received anything yet in the mail. Glad they are addressing it

I guess I have a good dealer service department. Never had any issue with the tailgate but they called me before I even received that letter and scheduled the truck in to have it completed. They also updated the ECM and did an oil change/tire rotation.

mine broke like month 7 into it and it was replaced now it feels kinda loose on the lock anyway

I got the notification as well… talked to the service dept. and they told me it must be a mistake because mine has power locks.

I figured they were wrong but didn’t feel like arguing that day. I always use my power locks, and not key, so hoping I’m not at risk of failure in the mean time.?!?

Just got off the phone with the service department, they also told me that if you have power locks that the recall was not applicable. However he said they will inspect it next oil change???

Came here to share this exact story. I was pretty sure every Gladiator has the exact same tailgate. She said no I don't have a manual controller and this doesn't apply to me.

I am going to remove this all from my brain and just carry on I think.
