Has anyone bought these side lights ? They look pretty sleek and the light output seems good. I do like they tied the blinker in as well. Any input from anyone who installed them on their gladiator or any of their Jeep’s are greatly appreciated.

This is my first post. I’ve been a long time viewer on this forum, but never joined until now. Typically, I’ve been able to find the answers to all of my questions, but lately there have been some posts where I thought I could contribute.

I just installed these lights today. They arrived in 3 days well packaged. I paid $14 for USPS priory mail. Each side comes with 3 wires. (1) white wire that goes to your aux switch or whatever switch you would like to use. (1) green wire that goes to each side to tap into your turn signals (white/green) wire. (1) black wire that’s for the ground. The ground requires a 5 amp inline fuse.

While wiring the lights wasn’t hard, for the amount you pay, I think they should include a wiring harness - especially if they want to reach more customers for a plug and play install.

Overall, the quality is really good and I didn’t experience issues with the install. I would say the install skill level is intermediate.

While the color matches, if you’re OCD and take a really close look, you can see where they mold the parts together to fuse the housing for the lights to the crowl. I know the paint is not OEM and it’s not bad, but I’m picky so if I drop ~$500 on something, I expect it to be perfect. I would say the paint is 4 to 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you’re not OCD, you won’t have any issues.

I do think they are really awesome - especially for the looks and integrated turn signal. I am glad I purchased them. While it’s only day one, I have no regrets, and I wouldn’t hesitate recommend them or purchase them again. Just an honest review for a newer product on the market.

Hopefully others find this helpful. Reach out if you have questions.

How bright is the white light? Could these act as rock lights?

they advertise them as rock lights. They seem great but steep pricing. Not sure if it’s better to have a pod on the front that I can just change the angle for whatever I want to use them for

This is pretty awesome. I'd actually want to wire it to marker vs. turn signals to keep the yellow constant-on as additional marker lights. Seems like a good addition to side lighting that Euro-spec JTs already get in that area.

I was thinking about this idea too. It would work. The turn signals work with with the white lights, so you would just have some yellow along with it.

That’s pretty clever, but gosh they’re pricey (which is saying a lot on a jeep forum).

I was browsing other forums, I came across this topic. While I do NOT have a Gladiator, I do have a 2020 JLU Rubicon and my wife has a 2019 JLU Rubicon. As some of you may be aware, when I buy one accessory for a Jeep, I must now buy 2.

I did install a set of these of OUR 2 Jeeps a couple of weeks ago. Here is the write up of the install on my 2020 Sarge Green Rubicon. I'm sure the install on the Gladiator would be very similar.

I have had several Jeeps over the past years, including JK's and TJ's. Sufficient lighting was always lacking, so inevitably I added the A pillar lights by the windshield. Most were always the cube type and I aimed the lights off to the side of the Jeep so I could see the areas that were dark. I wanted these same "side" lights on my JL but was searching for something new, different and maybe even better.

I came across D and C lighting and they had just the light I was looking for. https://dandcdesigns.net/

They make a fantastic product that is 100% made in America. The quality is top notch and their customer service is fantastic. Each cowl is custom painted to an exact match to your vehicle. The install is amazingly easy.

Shipping was fast. I ordered the lights on January 4 and they arrived on January 12. They were shipped from California to Pensacola, FL and I did not pay for any type of express shipping.

The Hella Yella was in stock, but not the Sarge Green. I simply gave him the paint code from my door jam decal, they were painted and in the mail on January 8.

The light output is much better than I thought it would be and the light is pointed downward to the sides of the vehicle where it is needed most.

The lights also have the option of tapping into the wiring harness and also functions as an orange turn signal. I opted to not yet use the turn signal function.

The yellow set in the background is for my wifes Rubicon.

Details on installation are just before each set of pictures.

First remove the 4 Torx bolts (T40) from each of the OEM cowl covers. Raise the hood, slightly lift the long plastic piece under the wipers and simply slide the covers off.

Each of the new lights have 3 wires; white, green and black. White is power, green is for turn signal and black is ground. Wiring instructions were also included.

I simply connected the white wires to my auxiliary switch 2 and grounded each light to the body of the Jeep close to the A pillar. This eliminated the need to run an additional ground wire across the engine bay. I ran one wire from the light on the drivers side and ran it behind the clamps on the rear of the engine bay, and zip tied each for security. I then soldered the connections and covered them with shrink wrap.

Here are the lights installed. I really like the clean look and the paint matched perfectly.

These are fantastic lights and give light where I need it. They fit so well into the design of the JL.

At $475.00 a pair, they are not cheap, but considering the work, custom matching paint and quality of work, they were worth the price to me.

Nice write up and great pictures. Still on my list of goodies to get just didn’t pull the trigger for the Black Friday deal. Your pictures might of moved it up on the list a bit

Can anybody tell me where they tapped in to the turn signal wires?

You have to tap into the turn signal on both sides. You‘ll need to take out 3-4 screws that hold in the fender liner. You only need to remove the screws closest to the side marker bulb and turn signal. You can then pry it back enough to get to the bundle of wires. The wire to tap into is green and white on both sides.
