Damaged Tail light, repairable?

not sure how or when this happened and I just noticed it today. My question is, is this repairable? The two little pieces that broke off are in the tail light so if I can somehow remove the cover and super glue them carefully, anyone have experience with this?

I did check for a direct oem replacement and its a hefty $650 to replace

If you can find the pieces, dry out the moisture and glue the pieces back in place. You'll also need to carefully apply liquid (not gel) superglue to the cracks to seal them to. The problem is that it likely won't look very good, even though it is serviceable.

To me, it looks a lot like you were stopped to make a LH turn, and when a car went whizzing by, it kicked up something that broke your light. This scenario (an object hitting you) would make it a comprehensive insurance claim (wink, wink). I'm not sure about you, but I carry $0 deductible comprehensive on all my vehicles because it is so cheap.

Does the red cover come off if I remove the tailight?

Keep an eye out for rear taillights for sale.

With people switching to aftermarket there's probably several for sale.

I can't tell if yours have sensors or not. If they have sensors then it becomes harder to find take offs.

I think I’d look to use polycarbonate glue, as it’ll wick into the plastic to seal it back together. You’ve already got moisture in there, and unlikely that you’ll get that out. Run it sealed until the circuit board corrodes, or you’ve saved enough/found a replacement…

Time to go aftermarket. The $650 to replace them is due to the sensor in them. Just take that sensor out and put in new ones. That’s what I did. If you wheel it heavily get the reseeded ones.
