I wouldn't believe it until I saw a full listing of what the unit will accept. The fact that it does have access to start the vehicle in those equiped leaves the it open for stop, unless FCA put some very tight controls on there. Which is possible, but I also see them being intentionally left in for things like vehicle recover, etc but only an approved agent or some BS can use them.
Lack of understanding leads to the spread of misinformation. The remote command system is not FCA designed or managed. The service has been around for some time, and is used by multiple automakers. It is run by SiriusXM, and the vehicle communication is handled by AT&T over the cellular network. To even get access to a vehicle would require knowledge of the IMEI, and other associated data, along with the necessary access to the cellular network. The hacking efforts, that keep getting referenced, were from 2015, and required prior physical access to the vehicle to carry out. The FCA security on the vehicles was upgraded as a result of those efforts.

The command to cancel a remote start does not stop a running vehicle from a local start. I know this because on my two JKs I installed my own cell system and the interface box to go from serial to CANBUS, and load in the commands. I could send a stop all I wanted, but if it were started locally, nothing happens. You also only get something like 2-3 remote starts before it simply refuses to act on it any more. So very little you can do to even cause annoyance.

I've got two friends who have older vehicles that had 3G cell in them, which is now defunct. Their vehicles aren't zombies sitting on the cell network waiting to be hacked. They are simply 100% disconnected, the cell modem is effectively just not there any more. It can't talk to anything.

Also, +1 on everything Bill said.
