Thanks for the information! Seems there a lot of generic “push pins” and plastic rivets available (a ton of them on Amazon). I realize that there isn’t a need for “precise” fitting but, I like to at least try to do a job correctly…. Thanks again!
I have the fender liner push pin as this in my notes as I've replaced quite a few.

Two more questions and I'll shutup:
1) Any recommendations on a stupid simple multimeter I can use to check amps etc from Amazon?
2) Is there a correct way to hook up the battery maintainer to this system when the batteries are connected to the Jeep? Or since they are in parallel does it not matter?
What Mr._Bill said, or I connect through the 7 position trailer connector so I don't have to open the hood and can leave it locked.
The drawback is - I might get in and drive away with the charger connected....because I won't have an open hood making me wonder why the hood was open.

What are you meaning checking amps - the reasoning, where and so on?

This is an inexpensive meter. I bought one just for quick use so I don't have to go pull out my good meter. It showed up with a leaking 9v battery, and they refunded half the cost. I just wiped it out and put in a new battery. Still working several months later.

Sorry, I should have said volts. Just to put a couple leads on the battery(yes) and get a voltage read out. I always have amps (amp hours) on my mind because of my LifPo4 battery and solar panel for running my truck fridge and everything on that side seems to be based on amp hour capacity.

I will not be installing a remote plug connector as I live in an apartment and have no access to power at my parking spot.

That looks similar to what Menards sells locally. The higher the cost, the more accurate and more scales, etc. but for measuring voltage on a car or truck, if it's accurate to the hundredths place, it would be fine.

I bought this at radio shack about 35 years ago. Pocket size. Still works great and never even changed the watch size battery. It saved me plenty of times ?. Funny thing is I thought it was a little over priced at the time, lol !!

I should take pictures of mine - they qualify as genuine antiques. Micronta analog. One small one from the 60s, another from the early 70s.

It's $4.29 here, was $3.56 across the river in AZ a couple days ago.
Be careful taking it across the river - you'll mess up your transmission and cause the rear main to leak.

Adventures in batteries continues. I bought a couple batteries today and am charging them up, as the forum has recommended, before dropping them in. I've learned a bit about battery chargers/maintainers as well as multimeters! So that's something.

The solar panel experiment on the original batteries might have helped some but at the end of it all the voltage won't go above 12.2 after sitting for a bit.

I'll hopefully have these charged up by the weekend and get to replacing them. I am going to go in through the top for the auxiliary battery. It's just going to be easier to do the work in my apartment parking as I can just close the hood if I need to walk away for a bit and keep it low key. ;)

I'm making the assumption that I can charge the auxiliary battery without the posts by clipping on to the blocks surrounding the post threading? I won't be pulling my old batteries until it's time to do the swap so don't have access to the existing posts on the original aux.
