With so many threads this has probably been answered before so I apologize in advance.
Over the last few weeks my Jeep has had a worsening shimmying/wobbling when going over even the most minor bumps over appx 10pm h. I went under to inspect and to make sure everything is torqued then noticed both my front shocks are busted, grease coming down both.
28,000 miles
I don’t beat on it, no crazy off-roading.
Only changes I made:
Leveled the front
Lower control arms from mopars kit
MT Baja a/t 35x10
This set up has worked well for me. Insanely enough the dealer doesn’t have shocks in stock and neither do others in the area. Told me it may be two weeks out. That nonsense aside my fear is that they won’t cover it d/t those minor changes. I want a paper trail for down the road should other comments take a crap.
So my question is just how stringent are dealerships with warranties and aftermarket parts as minor as mine? I just don’t want them looking for a loophole not to honor warranty. Thanks in advance everyone.

mine is great, they don't question anything and usually a tech will talk directly to me when i have a specific issue. They also point out that if an aftermarket part is part of the issue, it must be returned to stock before they can replace other oem parts that are also part of the issue. So running as many things that are legit Mopar parts really helps a good dealer out.

So far it seems like they'll work with your modifications. I don't know what kind of paper trail you are looking for, but ask them if they have any issue with your Jeep. Mine hasn't balked at any mods I've done and want to help.

It really is a YMMV situation as each dealership is different. Some are cool and will work with light mods and other will just point to it and deny outright without looking at it because they are dicks.

Dealerships are only setup to troubleshoot from a factory "as built" most times. Working around and trying to figure out what your mods do and do not contribute to the complaint is not in their wheel house.

My dealer refused to change out the aluminum steering box on my JLUR because I am running Mopar beadlock capable wheels and 315 BFG KO2's on it. When I pointed out that these are the same wheels and tires that come with the XR package the service writer asked if I purchased the tires and wheels from them. They lost me as a customer forever that day.
