I know there are tons of threads on this and I think ive read through just about all of them but I'd like to hear from people that have some different kits about some particulars.

Things that I want out of a lift kit:

1. - good on-road ride (of course). I am impressed with how soft my 22 Rubicon rides. I wouldnt mind a little more firmness and control but I dont want to "stiffen up" the ride necessarily

2. - keep most of the factory rake. This is a work truck so I tow frequently and haul shit in the bed so I dont want a kit that completely levels the truck

3. - height. Ive read that some people get closer to 4" up front out of a 2.5" kit. I want to run 37s but dont need any additional height. It will be primarily on pavement. I have a linked YJ on 40s for wheeling.

Will the Mopar 2" kit fit my needs as long as I get aftermarket trackbars?

Will the Clayton 2.5" Ride Right keep me at 2.5" of lift? Does it come with a pillow block for the driveshaft or does it even need it? Are the Fox 2.0s a solid option to go with it without going crazy on backordered deisel specific Falcons?

How about the AEV spacer kit with geometry brackets? I have run Bilstein 5100s on my YJ before the ORIs and on my Duramax but dont know how the valving is for a JT.

Throw some personal experiences at me fellas ?

I’ve gone back and forth myself, but I won’t be towing as much as it sounds like you do.

I thought long and hard about the Mopar diesel lift, but I’ve read from others on the forum that the front sags with time. I like the engineering on the rear suspension of the long travel Teraflex system and the rear sway bar replacement seems to do away with the the stock issues.

I really like what I’ve heard from the Clayton kit and the owner frequents this forum to answer tons of questions. Aside from Mopar, that screwed the pooch on the stock front diesel suspension, Clayton is the only one I’ve seen take the time and come out with diesel specific kits. It doesn’t seem that @Clayton Off Road is hard to contact either with questions.

Why is the Mopar kit sagging? Springs not up to the task even with the increased spring rate?

I am definitely leaning towards the Clayton Ride Right. Can always add the rest of the control arms later. Im mostly curious about the Fox shocks that Clayton supplies. My nephew has Fox shocks (not sure which ones exactly) on his JKUR and that thing rides horribly.

On the towing, its not like I am going to tow a 6000 lb camper across country like most of the guys on this forum but I have multiple work trailers so I need it to be up to the task for some short tows, some long ones. I pulled a Ram 1500 on my 14k all steel car hauler about 6 blocks. It was a bit of a struggle ?

From what others have written the added weight of a which over time they’ve indicated they lose +/- 1 inch.

No sag on my mopar lift.
slightly more firm than stock.
No need for adjustable trackbars.

Can run 37s no problem.

I did add a 1/2ā€ spacer up front to compensate for steel bumper with winch. It has just a touch less rake than factory.

Wow. Lol. I don’t even want to think what the tongue weight is much less the gross. With the reduced Towing capacity of the Rubicon diesel, I think it’s a pretty safe bet you’re over by a pound or two…?

How long have you had it on the vehicle?

With full tank of fuel and 600lbs in the bed, it was level.

I dont have immediate plans for a winch but with Colorado winters Ive found that I could use one every once in a while at work. Spacers are readily available if it is necessary.

@CerOf any pics from the side unloaded? Any change in steering after the Mopar lift? Yourunning 37s?

I am anal about cartain things so I would swap trackbars to correct the ~.75 difference in track width after a lift.

Even if it isnt visually noticeable it makes me think of driving behind a Ford van crabwalking down the highway ?

I’m on 35s. Will go 37s when these wear out. The steering feels the same as pre-lift. A bit less responsive with the larger tires.

My wife is picky and has hated how other lifted Jeeps have driven. This one she likes.

this pic is pretty much unloaded. Bike weights 200lbs.
Another from the rear. The wife’s WK2 is lifted.

@CerOf good looking truck. Im still thinking about the Mopar lift.

I've seen your posts about coming up to the Ouray area. Im about 2 hours from Ouray down in the desert. Maybe we can meet up and run Black Bear sometime.

Would love to!

My in-laws had a house due East of ridgeway, over owl creek pass. Sadly, they sold it about 3 years ago, otherwise, it was our summer vacation last 20+ years.

we still go to CO, but have to pay for lodging and food now. Lol
