There's a reason some things have to make you unlock the phone - imagine you losing the phone or sitting it down somewhere............ Google's pay app on the phone requires that the phone be unlocked and it requires specific security on the phone. I have mine setup for fingerprint but the bad thing about that is it's specific to the finger - at least my fingers, due to damage over the years. So when I smashed my finger with a hammer a couple of weeks ago I had a heck of a time getting my phone unlocked.Have you seen it? I saw an early video of it and it required that you manipulate/unlock the phone. Maybe they dropped that? You also have no ability to "remote start" the vehicle, unless the vehicle maker adds that on their own in their own app.
Phones can get lost, stolen, left on a table, left in a vehicle, fall off or out as you get into or out of a vehicle, so to me - I don't want anything to work if that phone is locked. It IS a key.
