Nobody wants that, you can just not wear it. There’s no credible threat from unlocking my car with a phone that’s locked. It’s a silly fear.
silly fear eh? apple and google shut off things for Russians, pay etc. that cashless society that's so convenient to you can turn off your life in a literal instant, it's happening right now, if they had self driving cars nobody would be moving either, so keep on virtue signalling while the rest of us wake up, selling people what they want is great, so long as there isn't a whole bunch of risk hidden about it (ie; deception), these people want you chipped and in cars they actually own and control (only giving you the illusion of such) so that when it's time to get some obedience, control, or thin the herd, it's simple and easy

man you better wake up quick, your posts are going to age so terribly that you're going to have a hard time reconciling with yourself let alone those you tried to coerce down this dark path

and don't even start with why or what is going on in Russia, you'll be so far wrong you'll think you're first, the media basically tells the story perfectly but you need to understand it's Opposite Day, anyway, trying to save you from digging any deeper man, time to engage and play devils advocate

Well then how about this for a somewhat useful answer: Just lock the RFID key under the backset and install one of these (Ravelco). Carry that key around with you. Problem solved, ish?

This is a step in the right direction. Too busy getting ready for another weekend on the ice slaying giants to dig further but at least someone is working on solutions, and finding and presenting them. That's a good post.

See ya next week lol, swamp...you gotta do better man, start trying to understand the other side of this before it's too late, keep some cash on hand, and a vehicle not connected to someone else's computers...it's about to get real

Not one word in your post addressed what you quoted from me. Not a single one. My posts will age like a good wine. Five years from now you will still be telling us that this is all coming soon, next year. Along with excuses on why it was delayed. I have a conspiracy nut relative who has been telling us for almost 30 years that the stock market will collapse next year and they will impose martial law and take over the internet and all that. "Well, because they've been found out, they had to delay it but it's coming next year!!!" LOL

I'm all about healthy skepticism, but damn. I think you're giving 'they/them' way too much credit here, @Jt-wrx. Agreed that our world is only becoming more and more connected and susceptible to manipulation, but that's a side effect of capitalism and technology - not the end goal.

I always come back to this: Never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by stupidity. Just because a Tesla (or whatever) can be hacked doesn't mean it was designed that way intentionally.

You’ll never get logic from him. He’s mentally ill. I hope he checks himself into a facility to get some help, ideally one that limits internet access. It’s not doing him any good.

Did I miss anything? I've been busy putting covering the walls in the house with foil.

That doesn’t work. It’s just a conspiracy from the aluminum foil companies to sell you more foil. They put trackers in the boxes.

True story - I used to be a Police Dispatcher. Many years ago a woman called several times worried about the cosmic rays. One of the other call-takers told her aluminum foil would take care of it. Later that night, her husband called wanting to know what idiot told her to plaster the entire house with foil.

Anyone who believes in grand conspiracies has never been a project manager, especially in technology. I find their naïveté so cute.
LOL - how many people will actually put in the thought to realize what you've said?!

ShXX happens by not by design in so many things. Then you make something idiot proof and a better idiot comes along.

Anyway, back a few posts, etc. - I see, I get it, your point on the phone and car unlocking.

I've decided the OP might be correct, the button is crazy, but I disagree on the rotary switch and/or key thing. Those rotary switches are a royal pain. Trying to get that key into the lock and then they keep moving the damned thing. Chevy had it on the steering column, another company had it on the dash next to the column.
I have a better idea - no one can hack, no one could steal it, pretty safe bet it's secure
