Do the diesels have any anti-siphoning features on the tanks? I need to dump the fuel and not looking forward to removing my full skid plate setup and dropping the tank. Could i just siphon from the fill line or detach it and go from there?

A big ol' set of channel locks helped me pop that thing out with minimal effort

May I ask why you need to remove the fuel?

been trying to track down an issue with engine stalling and cold starts. Dealer did a freezer test on a sample but they didn't send it for labs. And they said it was containmented. They also wanted $1600 to drop tank and dump fuel and see if they solves the issue. Don't want to spend that for them to do that.

So I going to send some samples from the fuel filter and tank to Blackstone Labs to test and get actual results for $85.

If you think your fuel is contaminated you may want to drop it, pull the pump and sender and clean it out by hand then do a visual inspection. Just went through this with a 24V Cummins and no way a siphon and new fuel would have rid the tank of the funk that was inside.

I haven't tried it but you may be able to drop the filter and put a catch can underneath it and cycle the key switch enough to get the diesel out.

I thought of that, but afraid of possibly introducing air into the system. The original fuel pump on mine already grenaded and don't want to introduce air into the system and possibly having it happen again. Will probably just siphon some gas out of the tank and take some from the filter and then run it dry and do a treatment on a clean tank.

As long as you don't "start" the truck and just cycle the start button it will be no different than changing the fuel filter. You would leave your foot off the brake pedal and hit the start button. In tank pump will run but engine will not turn over.
Best of luck how ever you proceed, I know it is a pain.
