heh might be a few weeks but yeah I will post pics. Mine is a 23' so who knows what setup i have in there.


can i use electric parts cleaner instead of brake parts cleaner? Should be safe to just let loose with that ?

Had to laugh - why are they "the very best of the best, period, hands down" ?

What makes them "special"?
I have installed and used several different brand covers over the years. If the vehicle owner wants something better than the stock cover, I recommend ARB because of my experience with them and their attributes.
The big pluses to me are; Cast iron, recessed bolts, internal fluid flow design which is close to stock Dana design, and a dipstick.
I know from your posts that you are a cover removal everytime-guy so the dipstick will mean nothing to you.

I would only use a cover that maintained the stock fluid "flow" inside. Never a cover that it just plain round or has a flat internal back.

Dipstick doesn't really mean anything to me - I'm more of a pull the fill plug and check the level with a finger person.
I'd not like the fill, check, fill, check bit. Fill until it's at the hole or just below.
(I have a pump type dispenser for hypoid lube)
That would be a negative to me - top filler without the rear hole but that's neither here nor there. Personal preference.
Most important is a cover that is designed to maintain the internal flow pattern, and doesn't easily distort.

As for aftermarket diff covers, please check out this older video if you have the time...



And check out what the competition rock crawlers and rock racers use. 50% use ARB.

I am a "Buy North American if I can" kinda guy, but the Aussie company, ARB, has nailed it.

And I prefer electric lockers over air lockers. But ARB is first class either way.

You can "use" whatever you want, most of the time I've just wiped out the housing after letting it run out. Then check ring gear teeth and look for metal in bottom and drain pan. I'm more concerned about having some juice in it that will break down seals, and gear oil or cause corrosion. You could use WD-40 even, I may have a time or so.
FYI over filling axle could lead to blown axle seals the same as under filling. My Wrangler always burps gear oil out vents after changing gear oil due to higher fill plugs on aftermarket covers. I found that my Gladiator axles were under filled from factory. (If I remember correctly) part 2: I use Valvoline since it's in squeeze bags.
