There is a you tuber called the Chevy Dude that works selling vehicles for a Chevrolet dealership that does a great job of explaining diminished value after an accident. It may be worth your time to just review what he has to say about his own vehicle after an accident. Then determine if it is worth your time and effort.I would start at 20% of the value and go from there. with all the information available and the fear mongering of rolling wrecks any ding on your report will most definitely impact the resale / trade in value.
Super sorry to hear about your accident.Hello all
its been a minute since i have posted, i have been cruising around in my tiny rental.
the person who rear ended me was found at fault by their insurance and has agreed to repair my vehicle, it is currently in the shop and is sitting at about $7K in repairs.
I have tried to find out what my vehicle would be worth right before the crash to possibly do a diminished value claim.
there isnt much out there used for the MT segment of JT's. and the crash is already linked to my VIN so everything i look up for my jeep specifically comes back lower than i think it should be or would be pre crash.
can anyone on the forum help me out with this or shoot me a number that isnt them throwing something at the screen because they dont like the thread lol.

You are right, I still had paper tags on when it happened. Such is life. For the Rubicon, below is the average current wholesale value:
Avg Cond
4.9
Typical Range
$46,600 -$53,500
I’d take the high figure and ask for 20 to 30 % of the high for diminished value.
the numbers are in your favor as this is still such a new vehicle.
No, I do nothing that honorable. I'm in the video games business. Are you a Servicemember?
A Jeep dealer should be able to tell you. Car fax is what causes the problem.keep in mind car fax sometimes takes a long time to show up.Hello all

This is a good point/ it does take a while for the Carfax to show up. They pull from accident reports and actually pay repair ships for repair info.A Jeep dealer should be able to tell you. Car fax is what causes the problem.keep in mind car fax sometimes takes a long time to show up.
