I am very disappointed in my heated steering wheel. The question I have is does your heated steering wheel get warm and then stay that same warm temp the whole time it is on? Mine occasionally gets warm but it never stays warm.

Is this normal?

I use mine daily from October till about April and it’s been flawless. Gets super warm and stays consistent.

As others have stated I would check with the dealership for a faulty component.

I AGREE. had the doors off on a crisp 55 degree GA fall morning, heated seats kick ass....heated steering wheel might as well not have been on.

Next time the doors were on and it was 60 or below, i turned the heated steering wheel on and left it on for a 15 minute, 8 mile trip. I forgot it was on bc it just was not warm. My RX puts it to shame.

its not a deal breaker, but i am underwhelmed.

TL;DR super happy with heated seats, not so happy with heated steering wheel.

Doors off / top off with it on does not feel as warm. I've found that if I keep my hands in one place they will get warm. The rest of the wheel is cold. It's working, but cools off quick if you move your hands around.

Thanks for the feedback. I did have the dealer check it with my 1st oil change and they said it was fine but I'm gonna need to push to have them replace it.

Like they said - gets warm, in fact almost hot, then shuts down and stays warm. Sort of like an oven with pre-heat, both burners on until it gets to temp them slows things down to keep it warm.

Don't forget about the supplement steering wheel heaters, aim the vents at the steering wheel 2 and 10 o'clock, set heater output to 100% dash vent, heat and fan on high. Viola, steering wheel heater that will bake your hands.

Edit:

Also, the steering wheel heater output is very subjective, not warm enough for some and too hot for others.

Nice to see another manual transmission!! I have done that with the top down and 45 deg out. It's just that I was excited about the heated seats and steering wheel. The seats are great, the steering wheel not so much

Well, since the powers that be all recommend placing the hands on the steering wheel at 10 & 2 for safety reasons in the event of an airbag release, it is no surprise that the heating elements in the steering wheel seem to be oriented at 10 & 2 as well. In those positions mine has the hottest temp, and at 12 & 6 the least hot, only warm.
