I watched a auxiliary battery disconnect video that showed you can just disconnect the negative cable and pull the fuse to disable the auxiliary battery. Their cable setup was slightly different (older model).
Mine is a 21, which cable do I disconnect for the auxiliary battery?

I know you didn't ask or mention it - but just a note to others - this does NOT kill ESS.
ESS will still function unless you have a Tazer or an ESS killing device or press that button on the dash when you start your Jeep.

@ShadowsPapa - So, for a 2020, you just pull the cable on the left and tape it off, then pull fuse 42 and are GTG?
Yes. That is the one that goes directly down to the aux batter for the aux battery ground on a 2020.
I believe that pic is from my 2020.

Here is how I charged the aux battery on my 2020 - showing that aux battery cable disconnected and the charger clamp on that cable ->

Trying not to reinvent the wheel. Often times to many posts turn up for the same thing that has been hashed on for years. BTW, good quality photo skills you have.

I believe the change was mid year 2021. Something like June.
Pre-June is like the 2020.
Post-June is the other one.
One surefire way to know if you got it right or wrong is if the vehicle has power or not ;)

Volt meter connected to positive terminal and to the end of the cable in question (once removed from the top of the main battery)
If the cable goes to the aux battery negative then you'll read 12.xx volts
If it goes down to the chassis ground, you'll get no reading.

So, if you put the charger on the main battery it does not charge the AUX battery? I ask because at 19 months my AUX went on the freeway - a nice warning that the engine was about to stop.

the batteries are in parallel - connected together - when driving or if it's sitting, turned off.
So a charger will charge both, but if there's a great difference in the health of either battery, one may not get what it fully needs.
So if I'm doing any more than a maintenance charge, I do each individually.
