The way you lined it up with the cab is fantastic. Were you able to keep that line after adding the corner plates? Plates look like they would require a 90 degree if fully bolted.

The plates are in plane with the ground on the top. I had to make the vertical corner gusset plates which aren’t pictured, yet

I made one with a few features i like. The rear is hinged at top and pops off with tailgate open. When off it jas fold oit legs that double as a table. The side bars allow for lashing junk on the inside and locking with cable lock of needed. I made it to be only slightly higher that the roof. After setting up camp and having a few cans of salad I hate going up down the ladder at night so i am going to lower it about a foot to allow for just one step needed for entry / egress.

I have always hated the universal fit bed racks on the Gladiators, the angles never compliment the near vertical cab and they cost entirely too much to justify not building one exactly as I want. I used 40x40 T track extrusion to make the frame and misc. accessories to assemble it. It was $400 all in. If you look around at what is offered from other manufacturers, there are already a ton of accessories you can utilize pre made from them that will work just fine

The BAK revolver tonneau cover has a built in T-track and I just used track nuts and bolts to secure it
