Do you even off road? ?

I do but not just for that reason. No I do not rock crawl or will I with this Jeep. For me IMOP, the JT is just too long and it is not worth messing up my favorite Truck.

I use it for towing, camping, trips (even long trips 1000 miles+) and daily drive although I just bought a new (to me) daily driver and will slow down the miles piled up on the JT. I love top and doors off feel of a pickup. This thing really amazes me.

I love that people take their JTs rock crawling and go off roading in the sense of, just for fun vs destination. For me this is not a Jeep I want to do that with. I would build a Wrangler or another MJ for that purpose. Honestly though, I get a lot of off-road adventures through mountain biking and with my dirt bike.

Location is my excuse. I bs around utility easements in the Houston area, but that’s about it. It’s a 4+ hour drive for me to anywhere worth adventuring unfortunately. It’s a big reason why I miss West Virginia and a pretty big reason I won’t be settling down in the Houston area.
Well all that, ya, and don't forget it's a giant, stinky, euro-girl, hairy armpit.

Living in Florida doesn’t offer a ton of off-roading areas, but I mostly go to Citrus WMA, Ocala National Forest, or Osceola National Forest for off-roaring. Although Citrys is definitely my favorite of the 3 as it has the greatest variety of trails; sugar sand, muddy holes, rocky drops, off-camber climbs. Nothing crazy but enough to make it worthwhile. I’ve peaked at 26° of roll on a few trails.
I agree 100%, I've been camping and trailing in Citrus for 20+ years and occasionally roll through Ocala National Forest. The wife and I are linking up with some friends next year for some overlanding out west.

Oh yes.. I wheel, any chance I get. It's the main reason I bought it. Love taking it up to the N Georgia mountains exploring, hitting the forest service roads, water crossings, always looking for new hidden gems. Pure therapy for me.

just got back from the Maine Jeep Jamboree and out of 170 Jeeps there were maybe 5 JTs and of those 2 were stock (which is fine I guess). So I am curious do you actually wheel ? The JT is a great platform for it. The longish wheelbase makes some turns tight and you’ll squeeze your fenders here and there but you don’t get stuck in the 2 door holes. Also the wheelbase is great on ledges and steep ups. it was impressive to see what the JT could clear obstacle wise. so what’s your excuse for not wheeling ?
2021 Sport S with a 3.5 lift and 37s. I'm not a wheeler--bought the truck because I like the way it looks. The lift, wheels and tires were done because I like the look. If I do anything else to my truck it will be because I like the way it looks with that change. That's all I've got to say about that.

Some of us could care less about wheeling. I built my gladiator to be an overlanding vehicle. So occasionally it will be used for "wheeling" when the need arrises but what it really does is gets us to places where motorhomes, travel trailers, and highlanders cant go.

I love to do the BDR trails with it, the colorado BDR is amazing. I did the rimrocker with it, but would not consider those or the dozens FS roads that we have done to be wheeling.

So it is mission specific what you do with it...

I think "off road" and "wheel" need to be better defined to properly answer this. Kind of like people using the term "fabrication" when they cut a piece of metal and drill a hole in it.

I do not wheel in the sense of bouncing, rock climbing, or mudding. I'm not going on Pritchett Canyon with my JT. Black Bear? Absolutely. See who can make it through the pond? I'll pass. If you mean Forest Roads, county roads in Colorado, and a million other off-road locations, that by the term "off-road" simply means not well maintained or paved, then yes, we do!

I have done most of the trails (roads) around Ouray. Quite honestly, almost any SUV with more than one wheel driving can do those roads. After all, most modern 4x4's have one wheel pulling in the rear until you put it in 4x4, and then you get one in the rear and one in the front. I know, there are exceptions, but that is most of them.

The fact that I prefer to do them in a Jeep is a personal choice, like being a part of the Jeep life and Jeep culture. You cant beat it. Most Jeep folks are pleasant, courteous, and helpful.

So, do I off-road? Damn straight! Do I need Dana 60's and 42" tires; I think not.

I wheel. Forest roads, national parks, dirt, sand and gravel. AEP Power areas. Up some pretty steep hills, too.
Perfectly stock suspension and tires. Mods are for comfort and looks. Washed once a week. Looks equally in place in a mall or on a farm.
What I don't do is bad mouth Jeep owners because their ride doesn't look like a monster truck and has all of its exterior panels intact.
I've seen comments on this forum and other places where people state "I don't wave to stock Jeeps because they're not really Jeepers."
You do you, but its really rude to disparage others because they do different.

I’ve only had my gladiator Sport for a couple weeks. I don’t currently have the budget for tires or a level kit that I plan to get in the future. I’ve already taken it on a couple mild trails and a less mild but short hill climb. I plan to enjoy it’s capabilities, but do it responsibly. You won’t see me doing any extreme rock climbing or something in it, but I won’t shy away from taking it off the pavement either.

I’m a brand new first time Jeep owner and was a little excited about the whole “wave” thing. (Silly, I know). Don’t have the budget yet for tires and a level that I want, as I said above. I’ve noticed that some people reciprocate the wave, but others will give you a “look.” I assume that it’s because my jeep is stock sadly.

And there are JK and JL owners who don't consider the JT a "real" Jeep.

I wheel mine. Been to a few spots. Big Bear is one I visit often. Also been to Parker AZ, Glamis, Anza Borrego, Moab, and going to Sand Hollow at the end of this month. It’s has been great.
