what are the symptoms of this problem? Just so I can keep an eye out in the event I dont catch the physical leaking like those in the pictures.

No symptoms at least for me. Just kept an eye out for the leak. Build date for mine 09/2021

Will having life kit installed and bigger wheel and tire cause any warranty issues with this?

Silver sticker on the door jam, in the corner there's a MDH with numbers following that. That's the Month, Day, hour of build
So if it's a 2021 with a MDH of 101520 it was built October 15th of 2020.

They spelled it right out for me.

I haven't noticed any symptoms either Matthew.
I suppose if one weren't paying attention to the problem, they would run it until the axle froze up...

Not sure on that one honestly.

I would imagine that it depends on the dealer you take it to. I've heard of some dealers being ok with some mods and others that point fingers stating "the mod(s) is the root cause of the failure"

The symptom is the lube like seen on the shield, wheel or whatever. It's a leak - there won't be symptoms other than wet.

Man what’s up with all the damn shock and axle issues lately. Hoping my mid summer 22 build won’t be affected. 2300 miles and counting

To be fair, both those items are external suppliers issues.

I haven’t had any leaks, but mine was clicking and popping and they ended up replacing the entire rear end assembly complete with new brakes and all. 2020 Overland with trashlock.
