What do they measure now you have them installed? The 37in Ko2s I just installed are the same weight as the 33in Falken At3W's my Jeep came with. I experienced a slight dip in acceleration due to less revolutions per mile due to the extra height. I don't plan on regearing unless I start to tow frequently or add a heavy pop up camper on the back. Haven't noticed much drop in the MPG, but I haven't taken a long highway trip yet so I'm not sure to the full extent, just been daily driving around town.
Also, to anybody who says MPG isnt a concern for a Jeep. It is. Jeeps are adventure vehicles, better range = I can go further off-road without worrying about running out of gas and better MPG means I don't have to pack extra fuel which takes up valuable bed space.
I personally feel that other than the aluminum steering knuckles, these new jeeps are perfectly capable of handling 37s on stock steering(Unless you're running crazy heavy 37's). I plan on not doing any steering upgrades for now and I think it'll be just fine.
They measure 35.6 mounted and under the weight of the vehicle. My Falken's were 32.3 at best, I'm very happy with the extra height at the same weight! What do they measure now you have them installed?
Thanks - post EJS this year I will determine if I need to go bigger. For me there are lots to factor in besides the unsprung weight. Part of me hopes the BFG 35s which are more like 33.5 will be sufficient only because my current garage height is limited. I only have 1.5 inches to spare. I might be able to figure somehting out... worst case I guess I can swap springs from the 3.5 GC to the 2.5 GC springs to allow for the bigger tires. Not to mention regearing... Not to be that guy, but there have been huge incentives since 2023. Bought my mojave in October of 2023. MSRP was $65k, I paid $51k. I've seen even bigger discounts since. Not that I care about depreciation as I love this truck, but for the 1st years KBB had the trade-in value at or above what I paid. Even now at 25k miles the private party value is $40-44k. I've gotten way more than$8-10k worth of enjoyment out of it in the 25k miles. Back to the topic of the thread, I thought it looked perfect with 2" lift and 37s. Changed the springs out to 3.5" and the tires look a little small to me now. Of course the only pic I have since the spring change is towing and 8200lb trailer so the wheel wells look more full.I’m talking about money lost. I paid $68k in April of last year for the Mojave X - then they brought it down $4k for 25 models and now deep incentives. Had to get out of my raptor so I could fit in parking garages but kick myself for not going with a Colorado ZR2. I’ve had maybe 10 jeeps over 20 years and have always been loyal but when I doubt I can even get $45k (almost $25k less) of 10 months owning this thing…
The Gladiators are pretty well set up to run 37s with the stock steering components in my opinion. As long as they aren't super heavy tires I see no issues, other than the ball joints wearing out a bit faster. Especially those running a 37" all terrain, should be almost no issue especially for a model with high clearance fenders. I added a 1" spacer and a 0.75" spacer just for good measure however. It's funny, I'm constantly telling myself that I want 37s but then I see all the pics of the trucks here on 35s and they look awesome. To do 37s correctly it takes a good chunk money and for what? If I can't get there on 35s on a gladiator should I even go there in a gladiator?
Do you have a diesel or something? I've never come close to that kind of mpg and I live and drive in the Sierras. The Gladiators are pretty well set up to run 37s with the stock steering components in my opinion. Even with the stock 4.10 gearing I ended my trip up to the Sierra Nevada mountains with 19.2 mpg. With the 33's I was easily able to get a max of 21mpg. I got 17-19 throughout the trip, I honestly did not expect to get that at all. However, I wasn't towing or super heavily loaded down and I'm a pretty conservative driver. And yes my tire size was recalibrated and i reset the MPG computer before I left my house. I attribute this mpg to the Ko2s being very light weight and my driving style, I tend to cruise at 70mph and only go faster to pass.
I've got the 3.6L. In all fairness, I've been getting 15mpg around town but my highway mpg on this trip was 19.Do you have a diesel or something? I've never come close to that kind of mpg and I live and drive in the Sierras.
