WD40 isn't a lube - doesn't last worth @#$%

The hinge isn't steel - try to stick a magnet on it.
Thanks Bill, what I was going to say about WD-40 it's a solvent not a lubricant. I don't dislike it, heck I buy it in gallon cans.
Heck you can use candle wax on them or if you really want a mess silver antisieze. :giggle:
A little petroleum jelly or cheap chapstick works. :like:

There are lots of good spray lubes that will creep into the door hinge. WD 40 is not one of them.

WD40 isn't a lube. Good for cleaning, displacing water, dissolving fresh rust, but it's not a lube and won't last in anything like a hinge.
They do, however, offer a WD40 brand spray lube that works well.

WD-40 makes a number of specialized products.

One of them is WD-40 SPECIALIST® DRY LUBE
Looks like it would be a clean alternative for door hinges
though I have not tried it on my JTR yet.
However, I have used it on the tracks of a roll top desk
with great success.

I use what I had on the shelf, pink bearing grease, it last good & even through the winter. I’ll re-apply when I take the doors off here soon.

I ordered a set of these for our JK and JT and have had them on both jeeps for 3yrs. Plastic and not metal so no metal on metal issues. No issues.

Those exact ones? Because I see these are ABS instead of the usual Delrin people mention when recommending new liners.

With the liners painted in, does removing them chip it?

Yep. Those exact same ones. I ordered two sets. One for the JT and the other set for the JKU. I've had them in our jeeps for over two years now. No issues at all.

No, it doesn't chip the paint. Insert the tool, tap it with a hammer, and they come right out.

White lithium spray lube. Good for the latches, too.
